TEETH SHAVING | my experience & results

I wanted to share my dentist experience with you guys. I have always had what I call buck teeth but just in the past few years, once my wisdom teeth came in it pushed all my teeth and I ended up getting one snuggle tooth on the bottom lol. After going to the dentist for some fill ins and a root canal he brought to my attention what he could do to esthetically fix them. He shaved my teeth and also put binding on the lower tooth. End result was a much better smile! To some people, it may not have been the most drastic change but for my its a huge difference. If your looking into getting your teeth shaved, I'd say definitely do it…. just make sure you have a mirror and your dentist has a CLEAR understanding of how much you want off. Same girl same. I went through a decade of braces but my teeth are so big and my mouth is so small that the lengths are all over the place. It was cute as a kid but as an adult I feel unattractive though I know I’m not. It’s a personal flaw I have with myself

I have two very big front teeth. But everytime I go to the dentist to have it shaved, the dentist will tell me that doing so will expose the enamel and eventual deterioration of the teeth.

Just remember bondings, if that's what you're talking about, aren't permanent. They can erode away, especially if you use toothpaste with baking soda in it.

I had a maytag repair man talk to me about his teeth, no idea why, but he said he took a file and shaved his own. I don't recommend it unless you really know what you are doing, it's more like a tattoo, it's forever. People did use to carve their teeth to sharp points, but the outside enamel protects the interior nerve endings. Remove the enamel, those nerve ending will be so sensitive they will drive you mad with pain till you tear them out.

My left front tooth was quiet a bit longer than my right front tooth, and my right front tooth had a chip in it so I just had them shaved and unfortunately I regret doing it. Did you feel this way at first or did you love them from the beginning?

2:25 it’s called BONDING not binding . White composite bonding - they match any tooth colour using a paste that hardens under light and looks like tooth enamel .

Hey quick questions did you have sensitivity right after? I just got my braces off and my bottom teeth shaved down and I decided to use the white strips and now my bottom teeth are super sensitive and they bug. :(

Yes they will most definitely be sensitive after... My sensitivity fluctuated. Like after the second week it came back then went away and came back. But now theres no sensitivity :)

They’re called mamelons - they’re remnants from tooth development which wear away over time in most people (depending on how your teeth meet when you bite together). They’re considered a sign of youthfulness, but if you don’t like them you can get them filed down painlessly in a similar way to in this video!

I know this is an old video, but a dentist being the one to bring this issue to your attention and suggesting shaving seems pretty sketchy. Why would a dentist compromise a patient's tooth enamel for aesthetics? and he wanted to shave more?!? Your teeth look great, but if you had listened to him you might have ended up with really thin enamel and sensitivity.

The material you put on ur shaved teeth is wearing of at some point and with time it will change colour (yellow ish greyish). Unfortunately after couple of years you will have to get a really good dentist who will fix it gently (if possible) or you will have to get veneers. Also after shaving ur teeth they are more likely to ‘die’ meaning that they may change colour and ur gun will get a bit darker.
