Another nice video as always. Those desiro sounds remind me of my recent trip to the Weymouth line, operated by SWR 444s, as it was the first time I've seen or heard an EMU irl! Nice to see the DMUs too, can't go wrong with a Meridian or Voyager.

My pleasure! There was just a little bit of wind coming from the new build estate which caused me some problems. I could have stayed for an extra 30 mins and caught a 47 as well but daylight was against me. Thanks Purple 😃

@@StarlifeStudios Yh gets a bit tough on the south end but still worth it for the spotting. That development site is huge and will include and new station entrance on platform 4 (Facing the development) with a 6 Floor Multi story car park for the station. Things are about to change for Wellingborough. Love and light and thanks for promoting the town I was born in and love with all my heart. 👌👌

Wellingborough railway station is a Grade II listed station located in the market town of Wellingborough in Northamptonshire, England. It lies on the Midland Main Line and is 65 miles from London St. Pancras. The station is operated by East Midlands Railway, which is also the primary operator serving the station with passenger services. As well as Wellingborough itself, the station is also the closest to the towns of Higham Ferrers, Raunds, Irthlingborough and Rushden, although there is no direct public transport link from the station itself to any of these towns apart from Irthlingborough. It is also the nearest station to Rushden Lakes shopping centre. Wellingborough station was used as a filming location for the film Kinky Boots, standing in for Northampton station. In late 2009, Wellingborough was made a Penalty fare station by East Midlands Trains, which means a valid ticket or permit to travel must be shown when requested.

The Class 360 Desiro EMR Connect do look really nice. The EMR Intercity Class 180 Adelante and Class 222 Meridian will soon be missed. As the Class 810 Aurora are replacing them and are to enter service later this year or next year. Maybe East Midlands Railway could retain some of the Class 222 Meridians. Also congratulations on reaching 10k subscribers.

Great video…😎🎉👍🏽 I can’t believe EMR use those un refurbished 360’s with urban commuter 2+3 seating and no 1st Class on what is and always was an Inter-City route & service for these stations🫣🤨 I know the DFT blocked their internal refresh with EMR, but for the sake of their passengers at major stations on the route (Luton, St Albans, Bedford, Kettering & Wellingborough) EMR should have fought back and forced a refresh of these units to offer 1st class and Inter-City style 2+2 seating 😎👍🏽⭐️

I completely agree with you, the 360s definately need their interiors upgrading. Its even worse when you consider that some Corby-London services are still operated by Meridians (Like 1P60 in this video). I preferred a good HST 😃

@@StarlifeStudios yes indeed..most people preferred HST’s which was a major factor to their 4 decades of success - they offered the customer a quick air conditioned journey in a fixed formation train with great comfort in both classes, plus a buffet bar or a restaurant😎🇬🇧 No train designed since comes anywhere near the great design, popularity and success of the HST 🤔 in the last 20+ years the railways have sadly gone backwards. Privatisation = Greed. The passenger is treated with contempt and ripped off with extortionate fares. Everyone now gets less comfort and amenities for a lot more money spent to put up with much more overcrowding due to too many shorter trains than years gone by. Most trains don’t even have a buffet now or even a consistent trolley service…its awful what generally poor service is offered across the board now for what people have to pay for tickets 🫣💩

I’m glad you still find some time to watch my videos but I will always say education comes first! 😃 The 360s are nice but the Midland Mainline in general has a different feel compared to the early 2000s. Honestly, I’m not that inspired by this line but I feel that I should cover it to be complete. 👍🏻

@@StarlifeStudios i mean your not wrong, back in the day when it was Hsts everywhere and the 319s running out from Bedford aswell, also have you heard the news on the Gwr 769 project being scrapped?- i was disappointed bc ngl, they wasted their time and money just like SWR did with the class 442s, all refurbished, never used, and scrapped- disappointing

@@Vk.Dane7 Yep, it seems like the railways are in managed decline. A reduction in rolling stock does nothing to improve public opinion especially leisure travellers who are more likely to re-use the service again if it was a good experience. The 769s were a waste of money but, like the Castle HSTs, they are consequence of the DfT running the show. I’m disappointed as well.
