Sure, not all head canons are entirely canon if it deviates from how the characters are portrayed on the show but that doesn't mean the ponies, gender identity (whether they're trans/cis) or their sexualities are explicitly shown in the story. These character's identities are still up to the audience, which means I'm still FAIRLY correct when it comes to the story being up to the audience.
