Japanese exclusive and possibly the rarest gamecube console but not the most expensive because this one has no games or special items in the box.

As a collector I really enjoy your videos, keep them coming and I'll keep watching.

That is awesome! It is definitely in the top 3 or so for being the rarest Gamecube
@NintendoCollecting11 жыл бұрын
Well said, they certainly do have a lot of strange things now. This gold one is among the rarest things I own. The Gamecube really is a beast. I have never had one break on me

i love the gamecube, even though no one bought it that made me appreciate it even more. It was like I was in on a secret that no one else knew about. awesome system
@NintendoCollecting12 жыл бұрын
@MartinMilkscene It is a very faint gold as I said in the video and not silver or platinum :P

There is a Gamecube NR Reader which was a different shade of blue than the Indigo Gamecube and it is extremely rare, especially in the box. That was never officially released and was a development kit
@NintendoCollecting13 жыл бұрын
@FutureMiles93 Yes it is a Japanese console and only plays Japanese games. The console is very rare and cost me over $100 but that was a great deal
@NintendoCollecting11 жыл бұрын
It is the rarest standard released Gamecube console. Worth is well into the hundreds

I found the console with psu at auction from JP for $80 free shipping. Along with a handful of listings, mostly the console by itself. The controller I've seen go for more, and complete in box I've seen one listing $500+. Watching your videos has sent me on my personal quest to start collecting GameCube consoles and games. Not as extensive as yours. So far I have 2 (1 Emerald blue, paid $33) wired and 2 Wavebird (w/ receivers $71) controllers, a custom painted DL-001 GC ($30), Metroid Prime with Echos Bonus Disc and Metroid Prime 2 Echos ($33 for both). Just trying to be patient and hunt down a Gameboy player with a disc. Lol Subscribed!!

@FutureMiles93 I finished collecting the N64 consoles this year. Most of the consoles are pretty new to my collection (past 2-3 years) other than the ones I grew up with.

@aquiteleo I have the clear controller. It was only sold in a Enjoy Pack Plus pack with a console (never had its own box). I show it in my most recent purchases video called "Christmas Holiday Pick Ups"

Starlight Gold in my experience. I can always search Ebay and find a Panasonic Q but the gold only comes up every few months if that
@NintendoCollecting12 жыл бұрын
I believe you are correct - they were all faint gold for a while
@NintendoCollecting12 жыл бұрын
They usually sell loose for around $300 or more. Boxed prices are up in the air - perhaps around $500 or much more

@gogosegaga I definitely agree! There were enough gems on the Gamecube to buy one and I am happy I did too
@yauy13 жыл бұрын
terrific video! thanks for sharing. out of curiosity, how many av outputs does the starlight gold gamecube have? usually if it has two (composite video/stereo audio as well as component video) it's an earlier model. if it has only composite video/stereo audio, it's a later one. i have an early us platinum with both outputs and a late japanese spice with one output.

@macosftw Whaaat. That is cool that you have one at least but the stickers drop the value. You could always take the time to remove them with goo gone.
@NintendoCollecting13 жыл бұрын
@brianerd8D They were stickers on a console and not actually a unique console.

Love that emerald blue controller

They definitely have value and are on right in the middle of Gamecube Console Collecting in terms of rarity (Slightly above Indigo, Black, and Platinum and alongside Spice Orange). Usually I see them sell for around $50 USD and up each. Are the 3 you have all identical? I am unfamiliar with the slight purple tinge though.

I have actually been looking to see if I can find a second one. Just to see how hard it is to find one - I have been searching for over a month and have not found a thing yet. This console is likely the rarest one I own
@NintendoCollecting11 жыл бұрын
They are the same yes, just that cover emblem is different
@josephskater199410 жыл бұрын
Its very easy to confirm age of gamecubes just by checking the back of the unit. Early launch units had a digital av out (component) and av out port. the later units took the digital port out.
@NintendoCollecting12 жыл бұрын
I think passing in that situation is the right move - until you have more info. The gold N64 consoles vary in price depending on condition and if it has the box.

I saw one on ebay with in the last couple of weeks, boxed, with inserts, cables, console and controller. Its sold for 130$ US dollers. Its was a buy it now. Hope to track one down.

I only play on the standard released consoles and sometimes the Jungle green N64 console

@PseudonymPlayer Actually I disagree with you. The Panasonic Q comes up on ebay several times a month but this Starlight Gold Gamecube might be seen once or twice in several months, if lucky.

I got one a few days ago for something like 15 USD. Without the box, controller or any cables. It's in very good condition though, and PAL cables works fine with it. Seeing as I was basically just looking for a Japanese Gamecube I'd say it was a pretty good deal.
@NintendoCollecting10 жыл бұрын
Most definitely. That was a steal of a deal

i don't know, maybe you have this all figured out by now, but i think all the gamecubes have 2001 on them, since that's when they were introduced. it's possibly a copyright date, rather than a production date. maybe when they removed the hidef port they updated that date, but i believe that up to that point, they may all say 2001. but as well, that one was made in china, rather than japan. they made the first few batches in japan, so the made in china might suggest that it was from 2004. my launch cube was made in japan, where my platinum was made in china. but like i say, this is most likely old news to you by now.

I would call it the 2nd rarest (out of the 9) North American N64 consoles

Can i use my (PAL) cabels on Japanese Gamecube?
@sumo739 жыл бұрын
Yes you can.
@strykah929 жыл бұрын
The video cables and/or controller, yes, power cables, absolutely not unless you have a step-down converter.
@sumo739 жыл бұрын
strykah92 Since the voltage is done externally you should be able to plug any official GameCube power supply into any GameCube regardless of it's region. You would only need a step down/up converter if the voltage was done 'inside' the console itself which is not the case with the GameCube. I don't know about other consoles however. I've just ordered a JPN GameCube (console only) and intend to use all the same leads that I use with my PAL cube. As soon as I've tried it, I'll report back.
@strykah929 жыл бұрын
sumo73 Very good point actually. Now that I think about it, yeah, every system I've imported from other regions have had an internal power supply, not that I did it on purpose mind you :P. But yeah, once your JP Gamecube arrives, let us know if you're still in one piece after you turn it on lol.
@sumo739 жыл бұрын
strykah92 JPN GameCube just arrived and....I'm still alive. European power supply works fine on a Japanese cube however my old TV didn't display things correctly. Using a newer TV works fine however.
