I will say, I honestly appreciate Peppy's moment of emotional vulnerability after the Pigma battle. "I just don't want to let anyone down again..." That last word is very important, there. Peppy was there for Pigma's betrayal. Peppy escaped. His friend didn't. And now he's following his friend's son into battle.

I did like how Ubisoft handled Star Fox in this, but gameplay wise, I still liked Platinum's touch on Star Fox Zero(even though they had to add in the WiiU Gamepad gimmicks). Maybe because it was a bit more fast paced, frantic, and tight, while this one feels a bit more floaty and clunky, so I couldn't fully enjoy it like I did with Zero. I do wish that they keep the idea of swapping between characters in a future title though, with their own ship stats; they've done it before with Star Fox 2 and Command, so I don't see why they couldn't do it for another mainline Star Fox game.

Are they *EVER* going to decide on what to make Wolf's Character? In the entire Star Fox series run, he's been a Mercenary, leader of a rival space team, a space pirate, a criminal, an Anti hero, Fox's rival/somewhat friend (Late Star Fox Assualt and Late Star Fox Command), a psychopath who causes chaos for fun, a warlord... and now a terrorist. Make up your mind Nintendo! Sometimes he's fox's ally and puts his life on the line to protect him (and not because he wants to kill Fox himself, he's had plenty of opportunities and never took it) , yet other times he's trying to tear him apart.

Wolf's role changes based on his goals. That's his character. Sometimes, he's an anti-hero; sometimes, he's an outright villain. It depends on whether there's, say, a greater existential threat to the entire Lylat system that forces him to work with Fox to stop it or whether there's another star system that he can control and dominate. Wolf is a classic example of self-centered rival, in other words. He'll work with Fox to prevent himself from getting killed by something like Aparoids or he'll fight Fox to take over some planet that's lush in riches. That's Wolf in a nutshell. He's sort of like Shadow from Sonic the Hedgehog.

For a NON Star Fox game (Starlink originally had no Star Fox)...it became a great addition to the Star Fox series. I bought it for the Switch. Played it like a Star Fox game (no alternative ships allowed) and I ended up loving this STAR FOX game. Ubisoft, feel free to use the Star Fox IP again. No, Seriously. Please do! Like seriously, fans have been waiting for something fresh and new, and this was it. Controls were solid, motion felt smooth (U-turns, barrel rolls, etc.), weapons and mechanics were great (shielding, grabbing, swapping pilots to abuse specials after getting silver rings, etc.) Money well spent. This makes the 4th Switch (Xenoblade 2, Splatoon 2, Doom) game I was hesitant to buy with potential regret. Glad I bought it. Absolutely ZERO regrets. Switch is turning out to be the best console I've ever owned just on fun and gameplay alone.

Its ironic how Nintendo tried to fix Star Fox with Zero but that game ended up being lackluster. Ubisoft then came in to revive the potential of the franchise by inputting in as a Switch exclusive in Starlink and it ended up being better than most people imagined it to be!

For those wondering why Ubisoft would ever think of putting in anything as stupidly long to fight as Andrew's tank: this guy clearly didn't know that if you boost and use Active Shield at the same time, you can use your ship as a ram (yes, even if you haven't bought any of those fancy elemental ramming weapons), and if you strike the glowing parts of the armor with said ram, you can knock them off, exposing a weak point that you can hammer on for huge damage. Granted, that only works three times, and once you have them all taken out, it moves to the second phase with the weak point being on the sides of the main cannon. I learned this on a Sloop Tank (a respawning field boss variant of Andrew's tank that can be found spawning from Outlaw fortifications on some planets), so I'll admit, I was at a bit of a knowledge advantage when I got to this point.

Genghis Kombat Also with enough Skill points invested in it, I think Slippy’s System Hack skull can affect Andrew’s rank too. At least I seem to remember a green glow coming from him. Also helps to use Seige Weapons rather than precision if you insist on fighting the tank without hitting any weak points and with or without mines, though seige weapons I feel have a really rough time hitting the weak spots on the cannon unless they’re also precise like the Gauss Gun or the Imploder. Yeah, it’s pretty evident that Prosafia here never fought a Swoop Tank seeing how Startail and Rankor love to chime in when you fight a heavily armored Outlaw (fought so many of these guys trying to keep my Outposts safe), but at least there’s a way to brute force the Battle Mechs and Swoop Tanks unlike those stupid shielded turrets. I’ve got one set on Tundria that keeps respawning, so while it’d normally be a good source for cores, the problem is that for whatever reason two of the turrets seem to fire blanks periodically which makes reducing their shields a pain since those ones take two reflections in a row to take down. What’s more is that, and I’m pretty sure this too is a bug, those same turrets will look like they’ll go down after their shield finally drops (the shield doesn’t drop, but the turret becomes briefly inactive and will smoke if you shoot it, and you’re supposed to shoot it) but still keep firing until you’ve taken down the shields again and blown it up for good.

@@Rexaura888 Ah yes, Slippy's System Crash does briefly stun Andrew's tank...but for some reason, *only* Andrew's tank. Against the regular Sloop Tanks, it has no effect. Wouldn't surprise me if Andrew skimped on his own firmware and got some cheap knock-off tech, or got scammed by an Outlaw with a sinister sense of humor. The only reason he ever got into the Star Wolf team to begin with was because he's Andross's nephew, and as Assault showed us, his chances of survival plummet once his wingmates are out of the equation.

RainingMetal Hey, so I saw your GameFAQs post on the Enhanced Crush Giants. Don’t have an account there, but thought I should at least try to help out here. You’re doing the right thing as any gravity weaponry should make them Enhanced, but it’s possible that you’re killing the Crush Giants too quickly. I know I had a similar problem as I would hit them with a Nullifier and as they’re becoming Enhanced I’d unload Levitator missiles (with a Legendary Rapid or Ammo mod, the one that lets you shoot two missiles instead of one with one press), and they would go down, but it wouldn’t count as me killing an Enhanced one. I’d wait for it to finish charging up, let it pull off its rapid mortar volley, and then go for the kill. Also be sure you get the final shot. I used some arrays on Necrom to get the Crush Giants I needed, and I’m pretty sure one of the Prospector Guards got the last shot on one of the Enhanced Giants I was dealing with so it didn’t count.
