Going to give " flat " a try, at home settings. Love the trees! 🤯

I set my starlink up in a hurry late one night next to my RV down in Yuma, the first 24 hrs it self pointed straight up, then corrected itself to point north northwest. I’ll have to try the straight up technique next time I’m up in the Arizona white mountains right now where I stay I have to put it on a 12ft foot pole to shoot it over some trees. I do have a fairly wide clearing where straight up my work and keep me off a ladder and pone. 👊👍😎

If you have any obstructed view I would definitely experiment with flat vs tilted and see your own results. I can definitely picture times that flat would be better.

Hi Gary, I did not know about the flat option. Thanks for that info. Starlink for me and my travels has gotten slower over the years. My T-Mobile home internet beats it by 2 to 5 times faster. So out east I rarely need my Starlink. I am sure it will change when I get back out west.

I understand that. Starlink works best for us as it works in Canada and the USA. Also in the majority of Provincial parks we stay in over the summer there is no cell service at all. If we did not have Wi-Fi calling with Starlink we could not even make or receive a phone call most of the summer.

A while ago i watched a few very long and technical videos on phased array antennas, like the starlink antenna. Very cool how they work!!! I didn't known about the new flat setting on the starlink app but will definitely use it when needed 😜😜 Thanks Gary for the comparison, it confirmed what i though might happen when pointed straight up. Love the starlink
