I put my dish on the roof via the skylight (swift Conqueror 630) Starlink is a great piece of kit an essential for us "Digital Nomads!"😀

I have literally just been installing starlink into the Village Community Hall this afternoon. Used the wall mount adaptor. Easy set up and good speeds. The only issue is that we don't get any wifi signal at one end of the building, so I have just ordered the ethernet adaptor and some passthrough powerline adaptors. Hopefully, that will cure it. Enjoy your travels, and thanks for sharing.

Well done Graham great vid as always. Two things to remember - if you’re somewhere with good 4G it’s not for you - if you’ve got fibre it’s not for you - was never designed to compete with that. Prices are halved at the moment because the next version is coming out but I don’t see any advantage for the caravan user except it has an RJ45 port on the router - BUT when you need to be connected with a reasonable amount of data and there’s no other signal or the alternatives are expensive eg European sims - then it’s brilliant (only £50 per month in Europe. Set up 5 mins each time. The trees thing needs to be considered but it’s just one of several things we already consider choosing a pitch.

Really interesting, Cheers Graham 👍 been wondering about Starlink and if it would be helpful, so this was a good honest look into to it. Definitely agree that it would be very useful when abroad. Great vid as always.

Thanks for watching. It’s not as convenient as our 4g router as that’s ready to go. I’m using it now and getting 157Mbps which is really good. EE sim is returning 24. TBF both are good enough speeds 👍🏻

Good subject and general review. It's certainly an extra worth considering if you were on the road a lot or often in places where mobile/cell data is poor. Feels like they need to consider halving the price if they want to get anywhere near being competitive on both home and roam plans... Perhaps they are still to some degree in test and learn and there are capacity constraints with increased scale if prices were brought into line with the competition...

Interesting vlog, cheers, provided several gasps as we watched it! As for the Starlink, deffo not for us, TBH so far we've never had a problem with our MiFi & EE. Thanks for the vlog, good to see you're keeping busy.

Just a note on pegging the dish down, honestly you don’t need to worry too much, we’ve been in 65mph winds and it hasn’t budged.

Have you an update on your Starlink use? Is it working out well? If you get partial obstruction, how does it perform? Have you explored temporary mount options for the roof?
@CaravanVlogger3 ай бұрын
I have been mounting it on the roof, just lifting it though a skylight and running the cable through a window. Its been working well. The only downside is the cost

Hello again Graham enjoyed the video on your starlink dish internet in your caravan . does starlink work for watching sky tv ( sky stream ). considering getting starlink roam plan to use away in our motorhome. Great work 👏
@CaravanVlogger2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. It does work, as Starlink is just a WiFi that you connect too. I don’t know anything about sky stream, but I remember watching a blog from Bob Earnshaw and he said that it was against skys Ts&Cs to use it outside the home 🤷🏼♂️

Hi There. Just subscribed and liked. please about your video on starlink dish internet away in your caravan with the roam service plan. I heard you mention watching sky sports tv. please can you confirm that the sky tv channels do all work OK on starlink away from home when you are at a campsite. I will be purchasing the starlink system for my motorhome in the UK and have sky stream package useing it at home. thanks kindly. Paul

We use an Apple TV box connect to the tv runs runs apps such as NowTV and Discovery plus which is how I watch sky sports and TNT sports. I don’t subscribe to sky as such

does the pause have to be for complete months or can you apportion it over a few months - as we go away for a week then another next month etc - thanks for the vlog
@CaravanVlogger8 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. You pay a month in advance and when you pause you don’t pay anything until you restart again as far as I understand 👍🏻 So it’s complete months.

Love my starlink, means I can work reliably from the caravan and have more time away. We got a 2m pole and mount the dish onto that using the pole adapter they sell, then fix the pole onto the jockey wheel using a clamp. Doesn't completely solve the tree problem but does help

I guess some people could apportion this cost to their business, offsetting this against the multi-million income you get from KZbin as a famous international celebrity vlogger? 🤣🤣🤣 Compared to the home fibre (150mbps) we have from EE at our house that costs £33 per month it’s not cheap for non-business users.

It's not like site fees are cheap and wouldn't cover costs. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'm not a lover of these star things. It normally comes with a bat round the head with something heavy Ally has hold of.
