Great update, nice to see you and congratulations on your new home! I'm a total facts and figures geek so really enjoyed the video. You make such a good point about 12 month membership for a network of sites that are largely only open for 6 months, it hasn't dawned on me before. Have a great Christmas 🎄

Happy Christmas. Nice to see you can still park your caravan at your new bungalow. A must for convenience.👍
@CaravanVloggerКүн бұрын
Thanks for watching Mark. Yeah one of the reason it took us 9 months to find a place is that we were looking for somewhere with space for the caravan. I need to modify the drive in some way to better suit turning it around 🤔 Merry Christmas 🎄

Good to see you back Graham, think I’m one of the only people to sell my model railway to afford a Laser Excel !! Now getting back into model railways again ! Built a 24’x12’ shed for the railway. Another hobby that’s not cheap. Cheers Jon

Thanks for watching and subbing. You deserve some sort of award for sticking with me that long 👍🏻 Yeah a lot to do and I’m shocked how much more everything is since our last renovation 7 years ago 😱

Haha I know how you feel. We sold up and moved to the south Devon coast nearly 3 years ago.. also bought a bungalow as a doer upper... I've been renovating properties for over 30 years and the price increases have been crazy... Good luck with yours though.. looks like a nice little plot @CaravanVlogger

House looks great, lots of garden and think model railway shed a great idea and by coincidence I'm expecting a class 55 deltic from accurascale tomorrow. Great to see you back and I will have to join torx wrench ( think my wife is on it or face book. Regards Chris

Thanks for watching. Ooo nice last time I checked I don’t think they do n gauge stuff though 🤷🏼♂️ I do like a class 55 though, I’ve got a couple in the loft - itching to set them up now, as soon as I have a decent shed 🙄

Hi Graham, all the best in your new bungalow , plenty of room for your caravan and away from a road , we keep ours at home aswell, I couldn’t live in a van either , love my house and garden to much plus i wouldn’t have that excitement about going away in our caravan if I lived in it all the time , keep up the good work Graham and merry xmas .
@CaravanVloggerКүн бұрын
Thanks for watching. Yes you hit the nail on the head about not having the excitement about going in the caravan. Hopefully it will return soon 😆Merry Christmas 🎄

If you had bought an eight foot wide caravan ie the Challenger x 835 and had the transverse bed, your feet wouldn’t touch the wall! To get over the issue of being off at 10 and not on next site until 3, pay for an extra night and leave to suit yourself.
@CaravanVloggerКүн бұрын
Thanks for watching. Hmm, I’ve been in many 8 foot caravans and I’m still not convinced about the space between the bed and the wall. Plus, I wouldn’t have got it on my drive… We could, but an extra £30+ is excessive

Congratulations on your new home. It must have felt really spacious after van life. My husband has been collecting ready to start a model railway. We just need somewhere for him to build it.
@CaravanVlogger3 күн бұрын
Thanks Sandra. Yes, space is always an issue. We have a large (ish) loft space but I don’t fancy getting up and down the ladder several times a day. Plus they are expensive to convert. The insulated shed outside (or garden room as they called it) is a bit cheaper and less hassle, but of course detached from the bungalow. Decisions, decisions….

Hi Graham great vlog 8k on sites wow! We have just sold our buccaneer in September and purchased an American 5th wheel, Which we are using for campsite warden job over the next year all I can say is wow to live in compared to a caravan there is no comparison enjoy your new home Paul.
@CaravanVlogger3 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. Oh nice, those 5th wheelers are specious especially with the extending sides 👍🏻 Yeah sites fees 😱But an average of £30 ish a night is pretty good, just when you stay so many nights it adds up. Imagine if we’d stayed in serviced pitches 🫣

Hi Graham your experience of selling your home and living in the van until the right property comes along will be invaluable to others. It’s clearly not straightforward, I certainly wouldn’t have considered paying Council Tax!! Thanks for the Channel shout out. Re the model railway channel first episode will be coming along after Christmas. Of course I’m waiting patiently for Rapido Trains to release the Ivor The Engine models, love to have them by middle of next year. Enjoy your first Christmas in your new home and best wishes 😁👍
@CaravanVlogger3 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching Colin. We didn’t have to pay council tax (which is why I couldn’t produce a council tax bill to prove where we lived when asked) I can’t wait to get my shed so I can start laying track! Not sure when that will be, I might bump it up the priority list 🤔😆

As someone who likes winter carravaning but struggles to get a site ,yes is it right to charge a Annual rate for for only half a years site access
@BobEarnshawMoHo2 күн бұрын
Exactly what we found, our average campsite cost was £32 a night. Agree with you on campsite winter closing. Whenever I do a How To video it always gets poor viewing figures - apart from my Fiat Ducato Dashboard video. Perhaps I'm just rubbish at How To... 😅

I did wonder if there was delays in finding the perfect bungalow. We had similar issues 5 years ago.. funny that bungalow vacant property they normally are 😀 looks like you have a project like us .took 4 years to do the inside, current project patio. Happy to watch renovations shame I'm not loaded so can't join torque wrench. Maybe I should ask Santa😂😂. I hope you have 3 bedrooms my only regret is that I only have 2, but it's a BIG loft space🤔🤔
@CaravanVlogger3 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. We went for 2 beds, 3 really would have been ideal but we were limited on budget for the location we wanted. As I said if I started putting renovation videos on my you tube channel my views would suffer. Having said that my views suffer anyway because I’m a clown 🤡😆

@CaravanVlogger3 күн бұрын
Thanks Sue. Yes we did think that once we were on site, but you still have to leave site for a period of time. We also wanted to go to France so it meant paying for seasonal and other holidays. All got a bit complicated 😵💫

Whilst C&C club were demanding money from you for the council tax. Did they refer to their rule book, placed on their clip board and wag their finger at you in an exagerated way, enjoying the castegation of your good self throughout, saying I have to religiously abide by the rules ?
@CaravanVlogger2 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. I was a bit disappointed that they still enforced it after I’d explained. Just makes you do things to cheat the system, like travellers do. That’s no good for anyone… Mind you I guess in their eyes I was a traveller…
