In Part 2 of this video, we install the hardware for the Starlink. We delete the Starlink router since it is redundant in our Airstream and no longer needed. We also mount the Dishy on a telescoping flagpole. The pole allows for 20 to 25 feet above ground level which is generally enough to get a clear view of the sky even when camped among trees. You only need to extend it enough to get a clear view and you can even fly a couple of flags at the same time.

Great video. This pole looks identical to the $69 one I got at Harbor Freight. Instead of using the starlink pole adapter, I bought a 3D printed one off Etsy that plugs right into the end of the pole and matches the Dishy interface. I did not realize the Starlink Router was really excess baggage and you could use any router once you add ethernet POE.

Thanks. The pole probably is the same. I bought from Amazon as I wasn't sure it would work and Prime has a great return policy though they aren't always the best price. I also considered a 3D printed adapter, but I was concerned about the longevity of plastics in the NM sun. The Starlink version is metal. If you don't already have a router in your rig, the Starlink makes sense, though you will need to run the Inverter while boon docking whenever you need connectivity. Personally, I like the router I already have and I really wanted to power it off of 12V. I do keep the original router with the dishy just in case though.

@@elimlife5980 Agree about the longevity issue with 3D plastic. They also absorb water and I don't know what the impact is on that either.

Thanks! Your flagpole clamps are a brilliant idea. I just ordered some and hope they fit our Bambi. We added a rather oversized Husky Superbrute jack and it doesn't have much clearance for the clamps, but there's hope.

I wish I could take credit for them, but it was my son (who is into overlanding) that suggested them to me. There are a lot of different manufacturers and sizes to you should be able to find a size that fits. On the brand I used, the sizing is made up by rubber inserts, so if your jack stand is too big, you can remove the insert and use a thinner piece of rubber mat if you need to. Let me know how it works out!

Just sayin... if it's the same as the Harbor Freight pole they can't sell it in Minnesota because the flag isn't made in the USA. I had to go to Wisconsin to get mine. It's an awesome pole for the money.

Oh! Neat idea on the roll bar mounts to hold the pole to the jack.

Great video. I watched it a few times over a week or so. You give great detail on the various projects within this project. First off, how is it working out for you now that you have had it up for nearly half a year? 2) Are you using the MTC 800-GIGE-POE GbE PoE to provide power to the Starlink since you removed the Starlink router? Would you buy the Peplink setup if you had to build the system from scratch? Thank you so much, great videos and I appreciate you sharing them with us

Nice video, The POE is a bit over my head, but love the mechanics of mounting the pole. Now what is the name of those clamps you used? Sounded like "housetini" but couldn't tell. Thx

“Housetuning” is the brand name but they are just light bar clamps for off-roading vehicles. There is a link in the description for the one I used in the video but you should be able to get them at an auto parts store as well.

@Elimlife5980 Great video! 2 QUESTIONS: Did you use the T568"B" standard for your RJ45 pinout? How exactly do you have those jumpers set? It it not possible for me to make out the arrangment in the video. And the diagram inside the lid may as well be in Greek. I am doing a similar setup for my FC25FBT.

This is a 30’ Classic so it came with a Peplink Max BR1 Mini. Airstream originally managed it through their “smart connect” but I got frustrated at their relative incompetence so I kicked them out and manage it myself. This allows me to use the WAN port for its intended purpose and where the Starlink plugs in. I’ll put together a video showing how to set it up next week.

Hi. Great video! I became an instant subscriber from an earlier video where you mention your experiences with Airstream technical support. I had similar experiences and took my router from Airstream's control too. I am integrating my Starlink into my 33' 2019 Classic and am following your procedure. I am using the same converter and PoE injector. I cut the Starlink cable and wired it to the "B" standard. I verified my connection by installing an Cat5e jack (also to "B") on the router side of the cable and restored my connection. I have verified that I have 48 volts with the correct polarity at the PoE power terminal. What I'm not sure of is the jumper configuration. It was difficult to see in the video. I setup what I thought I was hearing but when I power up and wait for several minutes my Starlink app says that it is disconnected. I can only think my jumper setup is wrong. Can you show a picture of the proper jumper configuration? Thanks so much and I look forward to future videos!

I, too, am a bit perplexed by the jumper arrangment. What did you end up with when using T568B pinout?
