Starlink Gen 3 Setup + Speedtest in Zimbabwe!!
Pros
- Download speed can go over 200 Mbps!
- Set up is quick & easy for the Standard kit _only when you are putting it on a flat surface
- The app shows you so much useful data about the system
- Gen 3 Router has good Wifi coverage
- The system checks and improves its connection automatically.
Cons
- High latency averaging 200 ms but going as high as 450 ms
- Upload speed is not great at all (5 Mbps average fluctuating to a high of 12 and a low of 2)
- Standard kit consumes 3X the power consumed by a fiber, ADSL or indoor LTE router (Can be an issue for those on 100% Solar)
- Quite challenging to mount the Standard kit on a regular roof without some special way to get the position right. (That $84 pole mount is necessary)
- That 15m Cable is quite restrictive for some when finding a spot to mount the Starlink.

Nice video. You have to run the cable through the ceiling man and mount it properly. 15 dollars you can get a fixture made, and you can drill it in yourself and put it through the roof and ceiling then tidy up the cables. It take about an hour or 2 but better than running a cable on a roof like that. That's what I did. 15 meters is way more than enough.

This is a temporary setup. I want to mount it to a pole but I haven't gotten the pole mount yet. Planning on getting it soon but until then I have is just chilling there cable ichorohwa nemshana🥲

You contiually got better speeds after the Satellite passes through close to your location. These are the "updates" we see in the app. Also dont forget to split your networks - 5G and 2.4G that way you will always be able to enjoy great speeds on the 5G band. 🎉

it would be good to do a video of proper mounting technics like enclosing the outside cables in a pvc conduit, weather proofing the roof mounting as opposed to just let it sit on wood blocks, outside and inside cable management etc. it will encourage your followers to employ good smart and secure installation methods 🛰📡 thank you for the videos

my nini just arrived and it's cloudy I video called my mum for 30 min no lag and I was walking around the house so it it works on a cloudy day then you should have no issues on the gen 3 as long as you have no obstructions

Econet SmartBiz can beat starlink if they uncap speeds. I recorded 250Mps before they capped to 5mbps. Normally I was getting 150Mbps during the day and 230 mbps during night till Morning 8am

When I was playing around with Econet 5G I got 331 Mbps. If it was not capped on Econet I probably would have not seen the need for Starlink
