Starlink Tests in Portland Jamaica

We successfully completed our first round of tests of the ‪@SpaceX‬ Starlink service in the bushes of ‪@24.windsor‬ in Rio Grande Valley, Portland Jamaica. The overall performance was better than expected, considering that we were are located in a little valley and it was very overcast with intermittent rain on test day. We encountered some hitches getting started but was able to solve them and completed the planned tests.

Actually, it was $100 then $400 for a total of $500. That delivers the item to your door. No additional charge. Last check shows that the one off price as J$60,500

What's your average starlink internet latency? Seems to vary a lot between 30ms-100ms. Can you test online gaming with starlink internet to see if it's smooth enough?

Trying to get business Starlink in St. Elizabeth, but only residential available. If I purchase 2 residential, would I be able to get the coverage that I need? Also, many areas do not have a number address or street in country. How can one circumvent this process without paying the portability charge?

It may be best to call the startLink support regarding the business option in Jamaica, or if two residential can be used instead. I guess the address is just for delivery. When you activate, it uses the location we’re you are at the time. If you want to use starlink if two different areas at the same time, then you may have to get one for each location. The Support may be able to help with that as well.

There is no customs fees so if you order, ship to an address in Jamaica. DHL delivers to your door. If you use a drop ship address, then you may have to pay duty and other shipping charges.

Hi Rinee When you order, use your address in Jamaica for delivery (not your shipping company’s address). It is shipped and delivered to that address by DHL, no additional cost.

Don’t use a shipping address. Use your Jamaica address. Starlink ships with DHL and they deliver to your address in Jamaica. So there are no additional charges to get it to you.
