David Bowie is cooler than sorbet. He was invited to take a Knighthood in 2003 but said: “I would never have any intention of accepting anything like that. I seriously don't know what it's for. It's not what I spent my life working for." Making him even cooler in my eyes.

Doesn't need to be called Sir David. Very cool.

Just got to love Ronson. Guitar, Arrangements, Piano and probably more than a passing glance at the production and mix. The man was the real deal.

Shame he was shit on so much by Bowie IMO

Yes, David Bowie was a chameleon and a true artist. He was my first concert experience when I was 13 in 1975. This whole album is very good and shout out to Mick Ronson's guitar work. Love Bowie and all his music through the years.

It was always a cool thing to be a Bowie fan in the UK when I was growing up . Bowie was massive here . We were far more cool than later generations 😊

The guy with the most guts of any. The alter ego thing... writing from Ziggy's point of view .. performing and keeping his looks off stage could have went so wrong. Pure genius!!

Thats Bowie on sax. Such a great album....the next album is even better (Aladdin Sane) and then the next (Diamond Dog and David Live) are even better yet.... On Aladdin Sane he adds Mike Garson on piano which propels him to rock god...... Yes, that was Matt Damon floating in the spaceship in The Martian (movie) to Starman. So cool.

Comment, comment, comment.....Ziggy. Hey kids. How have you been? Bowie was such a diverse and unique musician - performer. Glad we had him on earth when we did. Cheers.

Well thanks for acknowledging Dave's voice had a few different stylings; by which I mean he was a genius. Fantastic vocalist. I won't be entertaining any arguments.

This is one of the greatest albums ever released. Do a review of his Diamond Dogs LP next.

Utterly great tune, a studio classic that it is freaking amazing seeing it live, Mick Ronson was incendiary that entire show but awesome on Moonage. Great album! Also do the live video from the tour of that album, Ziggy Stardust Live was an incredible show, musically, artistically and in Bowie's theatrical performance along with the great lyrics/vocals. Add in the crack band, the Spiders from Mars and this is one of my most favorite albums of his, that entire era with that band is worth exploring. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎷🎶

I heard that Bowie was influenced by Anthony Newly in his singing style. I saw Bowie in 76 during the Station to Station tour. He was great.

I was just graduated from High School when this came out and it was like nothing we had ever heard before. Like most concept albums it's hard to evaluate on a single song or even listen to without going straight through the album. On my turntable this one started at track one and wasn't finished until the end of side two. It was an added bonus that the adults didn't get it especially when it came to the sexual innuendos. Bowie does change with every album and therefore evolved in and out of my listening but was always great.

I saw Bowie twice. The Diamond Dogs tour in 1975. I was expecting this album but was a little dissappointed in the show, more of a stage production with Toni Basil as the coreographer. I then saw him in 1990 with Tin Men band. Top 5 concert IMO! No stage production, just played 3 or 4 songs from every album he had in 1990! Great band, great show, great performance!

The 'It Aint Easy' cover really ought to have been replaced by 'Sweet Head' or 'John I'm Only Dancing,' as it doesn't fit in with the overall narrative and ambience of the album. It's the one weak spot in what is, otherwise, a Bowie masterpiece.

Agree completely

Those two songs wouldn't have fit in either. Should've just left 'It Ain't Easy' off the album altogether.

Check out the soundtrack for " The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou " criminally underrated Bill Murray movie. Seu Jorge performs Bowie covers in Portuguese. Starman is a standout!

Hi, I need your help, I love your Aladdin Sane shirt but it isn`t available in the UK, is it possible for you to send a link where I can buy one please, I`m not a big Bowie fan but love Hunky Ziggy and Aladdin albums.
@MusicforBusyPeople4 ай бұрын
I bought this shirt a few years ago, and I can't remember from where. I am not sure if it's still being made, but you should be able to buy it on eBay or from a random online store Try googling "red bowie aladdin sane tie dye t shirt"

Many thanks for your reply, I have already been down that route since seeing you wearing that to no avail, but I will persevere, looking forward to seeing more of you content, thanks again @@MusicforBusyPeople

Bisexual? I would say that Ziggy was asexual. "Making love with his ego...", is in the lyrics of the song Ziggy Stardust.
