Marina is a 37-year-old divorcee who raises her 12-year-old daughter alone and works as a teacher at an art school. It seems to Marina that her ordinary life is already over until she accidentally meets Nikita. The young man falls instantly in love with Marina and will do anything to be with her. Marina loves Nikita too but is more than aware of the 17-year age gap between them.
Nikita does not see their difference in age as an obstacle and is ready to marry Marina immediately. But Marina is afraid for their future and worried that people will disapprove. She hesitates and runs back to her hometown where her parents introduce her to their new neighbour Igor, a decent and responsible man, who is the same age as Marina. He too falls in love with her, and she agrees to marry him, but will Nikita let go of the woman he loves so easily?

Such pure and true love gone just because of social pressures. Nikita might be young but his love weighed heavy on him to fight for it, too bad Marina who is older in years but lacks the commitment that love knows no boundaries. What a sad fate not only losing his love but his life too. And Marina has not one iota that Nikita died trying to fight for his love. P.S. thank you for having English subs, the dramas retain its great story because it can now be understood.

Related to the story i was married to a crazy womanizer one,we got separated the same situation he's giving or providing with the needs of my kid but lots of conditions what i did i focus myself with my kid and my career,then i met a guy he belongs to a wealthy family he's much younger than me,he's really a nice,good looking ,brilliant n very responsible matured thinking,we fell in love w each other as time goes by his parents disagreed. It really hurts me then i decided to end up the relationships...After 3 years i got some news he was passed away due to heart attack.. Sad to think !!!Sometimes whenever i think of the past it brings back the good memories!!!

Thx for this great movie! (I just watched it for the second time.) Russian movies have a quality superior to Hollywood's, especially now that the latter is into fantasy/Marvel Comics movies. Even though I doubt that a 17-year gap would work, I still don't want Nikita to die. It's just as well that Marina doesn't know of his death otherwise she won't be able to live with herself! A sad movie but realistic.

Southamericangirl42 1 seconde geleden In real life she would've eventually learned that a young man from Moscow died in traffic in her very small town -be it on the news or through the grapevine. Also, Ksiusha could've made a second call only to find out that the police have Nikita's phone and the reason behind that. Marina's friend and colleague in Moscow could've discovered it as well and then told her about it later on. So many scenario's other than the actual one could've been a satisfying end to the movie. I felt this end was quite rushed. I would've wanted her to live with the realization that Nik is dead because she fled from him and he came for her because he loved her that much. But that's just me and I'm neither a screen writer nor a director. My writing talents extended no further than the highschool newsletter.

My broken heart was broken again.... at least let her know that her real love is no more alive and died in a pursuit of her, she already had move on with Igor , she will forget Nikita too but at least she should know what was happened to him, and that poor cute kid Ксюшу/Ksyusha would never understand that she had called nikita but why didn't he showed up and Ksyusha would never forgive nikita for letting her mother marrying other person. Nikita died , Marina moved on But that cute little kid Ksyusha :(( why such ending.

Maybe Nik was in a coma. He wakes up and finds his bride. Then the port authority guy drowns in a mishap with the war submarine and true love prevails. Nik and the artist and daughter then move to another country. Nik forgives the artist and she always paints portraits of him!
