He's not in a position to claim that suspects will be held on remand. The remanding of suspects is entirely a case-by-case matter of jurisprudence and not in his remit to dictate. He seems to have forgotten that he's no longer a public prosecutor, but a political Prime Minister. The courts are supposed to be independent of political control. He has no power to arbitrarily dictate what magistrates and judges may and may not do. We are still innocent until PROVEN guilty, so his insistence that suspects will be held on remand amounts to politically-motivated imprisonment of the innocent. In effect, anyone held on remand at his insistence will become a POLITICAL PRISONER...
