Rey Mysterio Jr got his first check in 89, I was born August 15 1989. One of my favorite wrestlers as a kid & as an adult I would still be geeked to meet him & shake his hands.... f**k that I'm hugging him🤷🏾‍♂️😆😅😂🤣😭

@@ronniep9272 Actually he was unmasked by Kevin Nash. WCW was dumb for doing that. Not surprising that WCW went out of business. WWE & Vince knew Rey was better all way around with his mask.

@Ronnie P To answer your question. It came down to Vince Mcmahon wanting for Rey to bring back the mask. Before Rey was brought in to WWE. He was wrestling with out his mask for about two years. That was when Vince heard about Rey and his gimmick and I believed that according to Rey himself. It was either Vince or a representative of WWE reach out to him and wanted him to go to WWE. If I remember currently though Vince was hesitant at first and wanted to see some footage of him wrestle. In which Rey did but without the mask. That was when Vince saw the footage and said that he wanted to see him with the mask on and Rey obliged. Once he was brought in to the company Rey had it on ever since. Also if you care to know since he is a luciador wrestler. They have the tradition once one's wear a mask it becomes their culture. So with Rey wearing it he's holding up the tradition of all the luciador wrestlers out there.
