I would agree with that for all of them other than Michael Jackson. I would not have had the balls to show up in diamond studded socks and gloves and a gold laced jacket to sing a song for people so poor that they don’t even have food. Everyone else is dressed normally, while he is in full makeup and that ridiculous getup, he did not leave his ego at the door.

@LYBism This was the rematch for the Welterweight Title, where Leonard faced Duran again after losing the first fight. As Leonard entered the ring, he looked intimidated, while Duran exuded his usual confidence. Then, the anthems began. Duran’s anthem felt uninspired, like a lackluster mariachi band performance. But when Ray Charles took the stage for "America the Beautiful," everything changed. His voice was electrifying, lifting the entire arena and transforming Leonard. I watched as Leonard’s fear turned to confidence-he went from hesitant to fierce. It was like witnessing the moment the blind man won the world title for him. You can feel it yourself in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iqPGqo1srMx9jtksi=YFmfvhgrcEEDz0d_ It was a turning point, and I believe that performance shifted the outcome of the fight.

Much if Africa had been experiencing drought which led to failed crops which led go famine. In several nations there, people were literally starving to death. In America, we awoke as a nation to the fact that we are blessed. What was needed was a massive delivery of food to the areas were most affected. But to buy that food and to ship it to the starving would cost money and a lot of it. Musical artists set all differences aside, forgot about ego, and gathered as equals to do this as a fundraiser. It raised millions and tons of food headed to the starving. Soon after, the nation with the longest drought and most starving (Ethiopia) had its drought finally end. Across Africa, the response of people from the other continents not just America, provided hope in those dark days.

Thanks for your reaction to this song. Just to clarify, the USA was not the first to react and help the famine in Africa with their song here. They were 2nd!!! The United Kingdom needs to get credit, as singer Bob Geldoff got as many famous British artists together that he could, and they created the song DON THEY KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS to help the people of Africa as there was a large famine in Ethiopia. The song was a HUGE hit in the UK, USA, and CANADA, and Michael Jackson and producer Quincey Jones, with the help of Lionel Richie, decided they wanted to do a song also to help. After the Grammy awards show on TV, they asked many of the artists at the award show if they would record this song together and this is the video you see after the award show was over. 👏 👏 CANADA soon followed with their own video also, featuring Canadian artists, called TEARS ARE NOT ENOUGH. Just a great effort that was then followed by all of the artists agreeing to participate in the world famous LIVE AID Concert for charity....showing how generous all these people were to helping the fight against famine in Africa. I hope you watch the other song videos too, as they deserve the spotlight too for what they helped inspire ❤❤. Thanks for your reaction. Keep smiling 🙂👍🇨🇦

I am a grown man, 50 years old and have watched may reactions to this masterpiece but I have never wept like I just did watching you both. I remember when it was released as a child and the struggle in Ethiopia then. It hit home then and still does now.

Why do we get emotional when we see something like this? Our soul speaks. He talks about the good things that are increasingly rare or that he misses the good things that we would like to see more often in today's world. Nice reaction!

This MV/song was a response to what was first done in the UK - a group of celebrities came together to do a song for charity to famine in africa. They called the group Band aid and the song is "do they know its christmas?". Then American responded to that by doing this song / mv which then inspired a concert to raise money for africa.

I’m South African and what’s crazy about watching this video is that I was 10 years old when this song first came out. This song played whole day, everyday on the television, car stereos and radio airwaves. Everyone learnt the lyrics singing at every chance they got and everyone bought into the idea that we are indeed one world. Fast forward a few decades later and America is gung-ho on supporting wars and destruction. Not forgetting that most celebrities and music artist are guild the same.

This song envokes emotions because the lyrics are so vivid that it puts us in the famine to which its trying to help. This made lots of kids cry in the 80's and all we wanted to do was help Africa.
