Born in 1951 and love music like this and sure miss the days of clubs like 54. I just wish I could bring back those great clubbing nights. Nothing like great music to make one feel so gooooood!!!!!!!

This "extended" version from 1998 is making it a very strong memory.......I believe that disco will NEVER disappear. I went to Studio 54 in 1981; I was 16. And until closing in 1987. Growing up in NYC was a privilege...... I also lived ALL the infamous discos thereafter.... The Saint, Palladium, Roxy, Sound Factory, Tunnel, ect. Never again repeated, never forgotten.......fantastic memories forever. NYC was awesome for clubs from the late 1970's to 1999. The End.

The electric guitar instrumental at 4:38-4:54, which can only be heard on this version of the song, is nothing short of perfection. I think it captures the disco-era sound of the late 1970's to a T and would have made groups like the Bee Gees reminisce of the good old days.

I just heard this on the overhead at my store, last Sunday. Of course I was walking in cadence with the beat (I was in a hurry) snapping it out and singing the lyrics to myself. I had a couple stare me down as I passed and of course I threw my hand in the air and wished them Happy Pride!

I played this version a many times at my discos and they went NUTS for it, Everyone was asking me where i got it from and wanted a copy of it. I purchased it from a carboot sale for 50 pence on a 12" single called "Studio 54 soundtrack". Absolute BRILLIANT record. I wish that national or local BBC radio would play this but ive never heard it played in the UK ever......pity, disco freaks would love it.

This is that rare thing a garage/vocal house tune that I love - my preference was always for acid house, techno, progressive house and trance/hard trance. I always bowed us garage as like the vocal female funk we had before house but without the tunes- however this solves that problem by being a great production of an amazing last 70s song.

I saw her sing this live either at the Copa or Backstreets in Lauderdale (Sorry, those years can be a little blurry). The new kids don't know what they missed. If You Could Read My Mind Lyrics If you could read my mind love, What a tale my thoughts could tell. Just like an old time movie, 'Bout a ghost from a wishing well. In a castle dark or a fortress strong With chains upon my feet. You know that ghost is me. And I will never be set free, As long as I'm a ghost that you can't see. If I could read your mind love, What a tale your thoughts could tell. Just like a paperback novel, The kind the drugstores sell. When you reach the part where the heartaches come, the hero would be me. Heroes often fail. And you won't read that book again Because the ending's just too hard to take. I walk away like a movie star Who gets burned in a three way script. Enter number two, A movie queen to play the scene Of bringing all the good things out in me, But for now love lets be real. I never thought I could act this way And I've got to say that I just don't get it. I don't know where we went wrong But the feelings gone and I just can't get it back. If you could read my mind love, What a tale my thoughts could tell. Just like an old time movie 'Bout a ghost from a wishing well. In a castle dark or a fortress strong With chains upon my feet, The story always ends. If you read between the lines You'll know that I'm just trying to understand The feeling that you LACK. I never thought I could feel this way And I got to say that I just don't get it. I don't know where we went wrong But the feelings gone And I just can't get it back.

If you sacrifice your life saving hundreds in the process that still makes you a hero.

That has nothing to do with what I asked. I asked how it's possible for heroes to fail. Heroes don't fail.
@700gsteak7 жыл бұрын
Actually it does. It;s an example of being a hero while still failing because you lose your life. Heroes do fail. If youre so adamant that they don't then don't ask the question when the answer is going to be about how they can fail.
