Omg. Watched it and it was soooo amazing and I’m cheering for team Canada because I’m from there 💜💜💜💜 But the girl who set the new dressage Olympic record for eventing was amazing and she almost went clear with only 0.80 time faults is AMAZING and she kept 1st place 🥇 But my fav horse here is Hot Bobo ❤❤❤❤ on team Canada 🇨🇦 💜💜💜💜

Very disheartening that Australia didn't select Andrew Hoy despite the fact that he and Vassily qualified AND Andrew has 6 Olympic metals (3 of which are gold) to his name over 8 Olympics. He and Vassily should be here too as both are at the top of their game! 😒😪

This was part of my past. In the 90s as a teen I was trained in Eventing and had the chance to attend to some easier competitions. Thanks to my horseback riding teacher that I had the best teenager time with a lot of different types of horseback riding, events, camping with other kids in her backyard and taking care of the beloved ponies at her huge eventing stable with a lot of beautiful nature around to have fun and train eventing and even swim with the ponies in summer. I will never forget how I much I felt I am right where I belong at that moment in time. It was like a second home. I hope everyone forgives me, including the ponies, that I never came back as I first had to work a lot and then I got so sick with the years. Now I am not even able to get on a horse's back. The ponies are in heaven now and I hope they'll remember me when I'll get there.... Stalkers, this video is not about you. I love the name CHIPMUNK. I actually call my bunny "Barney" chipmunk, cause his ears are way too short and small to be a bunny!! 😂

Will you be able to tell us which horses haven’t been abused?
@Horsedits2 ай бұрын
I can, almost all them. In dressage the ones who get the highest score are usually the most abused. I hope that helps.😅
@pattykake71952 ай бұрын
Many of them are abused…it’s part of the elite training methods like Rolkur…😡
@fuzzywuzzy86792 ай бұрын
It depends on how quiet they are in the saddle imo. If they’re rough with their hands it might mean that they’re more use to being rough instead of using their weight and legs. Hands should always be the last thing you use since they’re connected to the horse’s mouth and they can feel every little tug of the reins.
@Gregandallsomeoneunknown2 ай бұрын
@@Horsedits In my opinion I completely disagree with you Because not everyone abuses their horses With what has been going around with the horse abus is true but that doesn’t mean that everyone does it please don’t spread false information unless you have solid proof.

@matildada1e012 ай бұрын
this is the biggest generalisation ever. just because the media seems to focus on all the bad equestrians does not mean that all top level riders abuse there horses, especially in eventing. it’s almost impossible to get the horses to jump fences like these, and be so good in all phases if they don’t enjoy it and were being mistreated .
@Eleganciaaaaaa2 ай бұрын
@@matildada1e01 Hun, I’m just gonna tell you, high jumping is extremely damaging to their bones, tendons, and ligaments. There’s actual studies showing how damaging show jumping is and the damage it can cause which can be permanent. The horse does it because it’s trained to do it and because it’s routine, not because it enjoys it. It’s not very pleasant for the horse to jump high and land on his two skinny, fragile front feet where all of his 1,200 pounds go to. Maybe do a little bit of research on how damaging and just how not entirely ethical it is. The facts don’t lie. “If the horse didn’t like it, it wouldn’t do it” is such a weak excuse to justify putting horses through painful things lol. Horses do things they don’t enjoy everyday, horses go through the pain of having to carry abusive riders just to get it over with. Say that to the terrible dressage riders who force their horses into false collection and ride them with tension. Does the horse enjoy it because he’s not bucking? Does a horse enjoy having all his weight on his fragile legs every time he jumps? A horse doesn’t need to buck and rear to tell you it’s in pain, horses hide their pain.
@matildada1e012 ай бұрын
@@Eleganciaaaaaa why are you talking about things that i never even mentioned? the person said all top riders abuse all their horses and i replied saying that is untrue. yes i’m fully away horse can do things they don’t enjoy which is upsetting, i love horses and i would never wish any of them to be unhappy or in pain, but the commenter was makinf a big generalisation which isnt true. and from my own experience you cant make a horse do xc, you might be able to make it do things in dressage, but especially when it gets to a level like this for the eventing, going round such a technical course on a horse that has fear or unhappiness towards xc just wouldn’t be possible. As for the jumping large fences thing, yes totally jumping big can be super damaging, however a lot of event riders don’t actually often jump big fences, they only tend to do it in competition which may be around 10 or below times a year, and then maybe a few times in training. they more commonly focus on the basics and do gymnastic or technical exercises over smaller fences, meaning the horses become able to use themselves better and are more strong though their muscles, joints and tendons etc. jumping bigger jumps on a horse that was not strong through its body would be very risky, however this level of horse has all the adequate training in place so that they can jump larger fences and not be sore or hurt. an event horse in the olympics this year was 21, and most horses at this level are between 12-17 which if their legs were getting damaged by larger fences they would certainly not be able to carry on that long. This is my view on it, your welcome to your own opinions
