I am European, but there are times that I do not and *cannot* root for my country because some of the US athletes leave me in owe of their athleticism, determination and just sheer will and dedication to their craft. It is not national but human admiration. Like Katie Ledecky and Simone Biles... wow... Madden, too! Incredible displays of human perseverance and the human spirit in general!
