Unusual for a Bowler who surpassed Tom Olszta's single string record on the "Candlepin Bowling with Don Gillis" show like Paul Berger to struggle.

Everybody struggles at times. We are not seeing the true records of all the bowlers, we are seeing a very select cherry-picked slice of their records when they strung enough good games in a row to make the program. The great Tom Olszta was on TV something like 70 times over his career. But how many games did he roll in competition without being on TV? Hundreds? Many hundreds? Roger Federer had one of the best records in professional tennis. When he gave a a college Commencement address, he stressed that his *overall* record was less than .500. Losing is more a part of sport than winning. :)

Scores that were achieved in competitions to bowl on show. The scores determine positions for show. Winner of ladder series out of the 5 bowlers moves to a position in tournament of champions at end of season.
