It can be quite relaxing to put on makeup and it even brings out a creative side in us. It also gives us confidence and acts as an imaginary armor or mask. In fact, some of us can’t leave our homes without makeup.
For celebrities and stars, makeup is part and parcel of appearing in the public spotlight. It goes hand in hand with their gorgeous gowns, million-dollar jewelry, and slick hairstyles. However, it may come as shock when you see your favorite stars without makeup. You might not even recognize some of them because you’re so used to seeing them all made up on the red carpet. Everyone looks just fine without make-up. Women really don t care as a whole to wear the stuff. It's pressure from media brainwashing and being compared to people who get cosmetic procedures. It's real life for me. I'm 61 and regularly mistaken for 40 or early 40's-no procedures-I couldn't afford them! My husband of almost 20 years just turned 42, so it's real for some people. I can't be the only one.

Though at 60 I went to start a 50 plus advantage bank account and the bank manager apologized to me saying; " I'm very sorry to ask, but we will need a picture I.D. with your bith date on it , usually we don't need to ask but you don't look 50". I don't think I look that great but apparently by comparison of others in my area I look at least 10 years younger. I'll take it! But it's not the norm and I think unrealistic expectations for people.

We all have some vanity and as long as we still act respectfully towards others what we look like on the outside shouldn’t matter. Makeup just washes down the sink @ the end of the day anyway & a fresh coat of paint makes any house look better but what’s left when the paint is stripped away is what you really have to live with. We all know what we are under the paint. What we do to make our little part of the world better is our legacy. We should work on that every day. Makeup just makes us feel better about ourselves sometimes but living with the best we can be, knowing we’re giving our best to those around us, looking for opportunities to offer random acts of kindness, that’s what makes anyone truly beautiful makeup or not!
