Geoff's part of the group Voiceplay and I'd suggest listening to their rendition of "Oogie Boogie song" to see more of his vocal range.

@@bellastarreactsoogie boogie is a great song but I wouldn't recommend that be your first from voiceplay. To get a better idea of the talent of the whole group try Valhalla calling or in the air tonight first. Then oogie boogie which is Geoff dominant and doesn't show off the others very well

Geoff ("Jeff") is an incredible artist, and you're right about how accessible that ridiculously broad range of his is. I'd say he has four octaves reliably, with another octave of extreme notes that he can occasionally achieve. He's been recorded as low as a B0- which is the second white key on a piano keyboard, to give you context. But beyond his vocal talents, he also did the arrangement for that song as well as directing and editing the video. His wife works as his production manager (she's the one operating the Zero puppet in the BTS snippet at the end of the video), and frequently helps with the video shoots, as does Geoff's friend Layne, who co-owns a video production studio and is the vocal percussionist in the a cappella group where Geoff sings bass, VoicePlay. VoicePlay also has quite a few Nightmare Before Christmas videos (as well as other Halloween-themed songs); in the a cappella world, VoicePlay are the undisputed Kings of Halloween.

I've been following Geoff/Voiceplay for awhile and watching reactors so, I've forgotten which one it was, but a vocal coach who watched several of their vids said she noted Geoff, singing with clarity and strength in five different octaves...and then he goes Subharmonic 😮

@@smashmonster6929 I've been told his lowest is in Warriors, but that was somehow edited or whatever it is you can do to sound like a slightly lower note. It could be the C#0 you're talking about. Otherwise I thought his lowest was a B0 in the Halo vid.

Anyone reacting to Geoff will get hits and comments. Especially 'newcomers.' The first input I have is to let you know that ALL of the voices you heard were Geoff. He multi-tracks to sing the harmonies. When it comes to covers, both Geoff and VoicePlay (the a cappella group he sings with) always 'make it their own' while ALSO paying homage to the original artist. Your comment about the moon, for example... for whatever reason, he decided to include it... but took license with the size. Better? Worse? I'd say 'different.' In the original, Zero follows Jack from the beginning. Here he appears, but not until later. Again... different, but it pays homage. If you decide to give Geoff another whirl, there are LOTS of great songs where he does lead and harmonies. I LOVE his arrangement of "Monster Mash." LOVED the shocked reaction where you said that naughty word!! LOL Great reaction! Good luck!

@@judithf9297 Hi Judith! I suspect your comment wasn't meant for me. I think it might have been for Bella's benefit. I remember her being unsure of the terminology. Of interest... there is some disagreement about how to classify the ladies' voice ranges. It depends which reference you check, and whether you use the 'chorus' or 'opera' styles.

Great reaction! I loved watching your shock at his transitions. Geoff has incredible range and agility, and those of us who have been following him for a while kind of take that in stride. Not that you don't remain impressed, but you kind of expect it. He's also very creative, as you saw here. You should check out more of his stuff. Considering we're getting into the Halloween season, I would strongly recommend his cover of "Monster Mash," which also has a great music video.

Geoff wanted a hopeful ending to the video that was not part of the song. He wanted to reflect the next stage for Jack. That's why, after his signature logo, dual gramaphones, there was a scene with snow falling and his happy/surprised reaction to it. I hope that you watched it as well as the bit of behind the scenes footage. If you have time for more Halloween, I will recommend his version of the Headless Horseman, or White Christmas. And then head on over to Voiceplay. You will not be sorry, trust me! Subscribed in anticipation of more Geoff and Voiceplay!

He can sing IN 6 octaves (0-5). But if you count octaves from B0 to B1, then B2, etc... he has a 5+octave range. I'm talking about 'really singing.' not burps or squeaks. 🙂 (at least I THINK I'm correct)

I agree with you on his range. He used to be5 octave but over the years he's improved tremendously. Getting higher and lower. In his video "I See Fire" he shows off his range with his 4 selves dressed up as dwarves from the Hobbit movies..... Killi, Bofur, Filli and Thorin. He does the same characters in his video "Far Over The Misty Mountains".

So far this is his most theatrical. I say so far because he keeps stepping it up every year. The moon was actually a light that they purchased and added because he wanted to have that one shot where he’s looking at the moon. Halloween is the favorite holiday of both VoicePlay (the a capella that he is a member and co-founder of) and Geoff. Each year VoicePlay has put out in a spooky season release. They aren’t all specifically Halloween but they all have something sort of spooky about them. This year they covered Hellfire from Hunchback of Notre Dame. The song is dramatic and haunting and creepy and beautiful. But it is by far my least favorite villain in the Disney movies. To me he personifies evil and it’s hard for me to listen to the piece sometimes. But the cover is brilliant. They have covered four songs from Nightmare before Christmas; What’s This, Kidnap the Sandy Claws, This is Halloween and, of course, the famous Oogie Boogie song. Last year they did DingDong/Hide and Seek with Lauren Paley who made this song viral by singing it in her stairwell to scare her neighbors. They have also done Stevie Wonder’s Superstition, and I’ve Got Friends on the Other Side from Disney’s Princess and the Frog. They also have two versions of Grim Grinning Ghosts from Disney’s haunted mansion. One while they were backstage between sets which is performed live. In the other they are the singing busts from the mansion. There is also a very old cover of Once Upon a Dream, I think done about the time the second Maleficent movie was released, that is haunting. Although not specifically Halloween last year they also did in the Hall of the Mountain King from the Peer Gynt suite. It’s a classical orchestral piece with no words. But they told a story anyway of a group of trolls surrounding a cauldron adding a new ingredient each time they wanted their voices to change. It’s pretty amazing. Geoff has done three others so far starting when he launched his solo channel. The first year he did Headless Horseman which was featured in a 1958 animated short by Disney. Bing Crosby sang the song in the animated cartoon the legend of Sleepy Hollow which is the story of Ichabod Crane. Later Disney put out an album featuring Thurl Ravenscroft and that is one of Geoff’s favorite singers. So when he did that song he sort of channeled his inner Thurl. That was followed by Monster Mash, and last year he did Ghost Riders in the Sky.

There is no such thing as a star seed. It is incredibly vain to think this way. Humans can be spiritual on their own. They don’t need to make up absolute bunk to prove that they are more spiritual than someone else.
