This is looking very interesting, The level of detail you're going for is off the charts amazing. I only wish I could plan out a ship as thoroughly as you have with this design.

Thanks :) It actually took a couple of months to get the internal layout planned and roughed out with basic framework. It's the little things that catch you out, like fitting in X number of identical crew quarters around a circle without leaving any wasted space, while also having room for corridors. Or thinking about how large sections of framework can be welded together without trapping the welding crew in there forever :P I'll be making a video about this at some point, talking about the construction process and showing the whole build as an animation.

VR multiplayer is absolutely planned, so hopefully we can make that a reality!

Glad to see you're back after a long hiatus. I always wondered what happened to your Star Trek VR projects. I guess Paramount slammed you with their legal hammer rather than allow such a wonderful fan-made project to continue?

Dan has been working on The Orville, however if you mean the refit, then she is still tucked nicely in drydock and will be cared for until she is restarted :)

Thanks :) While Stage 9 was indeed shut down by CBS, my Enterprise Refit project has never officially been shut down. One day I do plan to finish it, but it will take the form of an educational engineering study because releasing it as a playable game would probably go the same way as Stage 9.

Wait a minute, this is a fantastic project. Am i right assuming there's a lot of Star Trek meets real life inspiration behind this? The corridor feels extremely Star Trek next gen.

Hey, thanks, yes that's actually a good way of describing it. It's a case of if Star Trek were real, this is perhaps what it would actually be like. I'm projecting our current technology and manufacturing techniques forwards about 200 years, with a bit of artistic licence for things like FTL and artificial gravity.

Crew quarters should not be segregated. Any crew should be able to stay in any quarters, disbursed by lottery, not by rank. This will improve crew morale as in no one would be limited to where they can stay. Goes for the mess areas as well.

Crew would own quarters nearest to where they worked. I'd hate to be an engineer, yet have a room on the furthest side of the ship by lottery :)
