A lot of movies that use a lot of practical effects and animatronics spiced up with CGI from the old days hold up better than some of the more recent full CGI ones. Alien is a good example, as well as Jurassic Park.

@@rodew2875 Jurassic park is the most shocking to me! I watched it for the first time in 15 years like a month ago and it's nearly perfect. If someone created a movie today with identical technology to the original Jurassic park it could be successful. I've always liked movies and video games and it has always interested me that countless times over the last 30 years when a groundbreaking movie or game has come out and seemed "perfect" with graphics or CGI it ends up looking terrible 5 years later. I think the first Matrix had the most influence in the last 30 years of any movie for the future of cinema. It's a bit dated now and seems a bit corny at times but it's astonishing what they accomplished.

@@MikeS-ur2ql That was the one guy talking about the bugs not being smart. But they were having a free and open public debate about it. Not exactly a fascist practice. They are not exact replica's of SS uniforms they could be MA state troopers or Irish soldiers in the 1920's. Assuming the bugs weren't smart is racist and probably more accurately "speciesist". It wasn't everyone who believed that as shown in that free and open debate. Fascism doesn't like dissent let alone debate. The enemy was trying to geno side humanity so encouraging people to fight them isn't a half bad idea. The dehumanizing of the bugs is silly because they are not human. Did you see Earth as the bad guy ? Every organized group of humans from Neanderthals to Parthians to Canadians, they will all rally against an enemy. That in it's self is not a product of fascism but of human nature. The fed has elections , there is no draft, freedom of speech, freedom to be a citizen or a civilian. It’s a damn shame that Dizz dies and Carmen doesn’t. It makes me upset. Dizz might have been stalkerish but that’s what people do when they like someone. And Rico ended up with her too. She was badass. They would have made such a good couple 😭 Ugh

Huh...I remember Starship Troopers being a sci-fi flick, but after seeing Devin's edit, it turns out it was a soap opera all along.
