The Wandering Reapers has engineers who are specifically trained to make smaller bases because over extending bases is god awful for defenses. Same goes for engineers keeping up with the maintenance of the base or giving troops Ammunition and distributing correctly than just everywhere. This video is very helpful.

Thanks for the video, do you have any recommendations about how to use Engineer's special ability to build anywhere? I find myself building the turrets but for some reason I can only build one per mission. Not really understanding how that system works, and I'm having trouble finding any kind of guide or info on the specifics of it's function. Thank you! Edit: So I played a little more, you HAVE to deconstruct as you go. If the turret is destroyed I don't think you can build another, or at least I couldn't when I went back to deconstruct it after dying. Do you think this changes up Engineer builds with you being able to construct and deconstruct large ammo crates?

@@ZizakChitak Whenever you're done with a turret you can destroy it to build another in a new location. I'd also suggest taking advantage of building spot lights on dark maps because the engineer is the only one that can build them and it makes a huge difference. Just remember to turn them on after building them. I ran into an interesting example of how building anywhere made a massive difference yesterday while doing a horde on the Boreas (Galactic Front) map. A couple engineers and a few other people ran off into a nearby tunnel/cave at the start of the match. The engineers built ammo, turrets, and barricades in the tunnel and the group spawn killed everything each round. It was so effective that the bugs didn't even have a chance to attack the base. Each round was over extremely fast. Easiest win yet. As for where best to take advantage of building anywhere, that would vary depending on the map and the situation. On X-11 you can take advantage of the massive spire in the middle of the map, but you may need to build your way up. I've seen people do it with barricades, but there's crates along its base that you could throw ammo on to help you get up there. Personally, I try to pay attention to where players are hanging out outside of the base build area and I use my ability to build them ammo, barricades, or whatever I think they'll need. The engineer and medic are support classes and it's important to use them as such. A lot of people treat the engineer like its sole purpose is building a turret, but it can be a class that turns the tides of battle if ran correctly.

You can only have one working turret at a time you build with your ability. When you activate ability it says 0/4 Ammo Crate, 0/30 short wall, 0/4 Spotlight, 0/4 Ammo pile, 0/1 Turret. If it says 1/1 Turret you can't build another one. If you unbuild it or the bugs destroy it, you can build another one. Usually I pop down an ammo fabricator or 2, then a turret, then turret ammo. Then you have to wait for that super long cooldown before you can use your build anywhere ability again. Then I pop down an Ammo Crate so people can refill their utilities and grenades and something else. The thing that makes me mad, is that you can't check how many builds you have available without triggering the long countdown (You have to activate ability to see 1/1 or 0/1 turret). If I delivered 2 Ores to the base and left a turret at the Ore, I would like to know if it got destroyed (so I can go build one at the Gas Extractor) or if I need to go unbuild it. Or I wish i could know exactly when it got destroyed so I can rebuild the Turret immediately. Also the cooldown shouldn't start until you actually build something. I hate pressing Q to build a turret, can't find flat ground, A bug attacks me out of nowhere, and I have to wait forever to try it again. And we have nothing to show for it.
