This was amazing! And to see Lee Wilkof sing the role again was more than I could have hoped for. Thank you, SITH!

I get the feeling that Seth has a bias towards the older Broadway stars, the ones that he grew up with, like Donna Murphy and Lee Wilkof, or that he worked with, like Hunter Foster. So, yeah, it was unfortunate that they didn't engage with Gideon more. Even weirder how Jeremy temporarily forgot that he was taking over for Gideon in the role.

I came to NYC for a week in September 1982 from Cincinnati, I saw 10 shows. Among them were DreamGirls , Nine, Pump Boys and Dinettes, Joseph and .....Dreamcoat and in the Village at the Orpheum Theater, Little Shop of Horrors. Whenever we had a chance to go to Broadway, we saw as many shows as possible. I was in heaven.. I knew Ellen Greene from a movie - I'm thinking it was Next Stop, Greenwich Village. I didn't know what a wonderful show I was gonna see in that little theater. At the end of the show vines descended from the ceiling in the auditorium to devour the audience. I still love this show.

i saw it in Coral Gables. Loved it so much. Alice Ripley and Reg Rogers were amazing. The cast found out during the show I was at that most of them were not going to Broadway. Not a lot of smiles at the stage door. Crazy!

how do you have a get together without jonathan groff?! but also what is the story with hunter foster and the miami cast? i wish they had not all assumed everyone would just know what they are talking about. :( :(

Most everyone was fired, including Alice Ripley, except him. So I’m assuming he was trying to be sensitive about the subject.

@@bobbybubby7977 to add insult to injury, the original director was Connie Grappo, Ashman’s assistant on the original and wife of Lee Wilkoff (who was cast as Mushnik)

I saw that Miami production. Was simultaneously very amazing and very strange and different than how the Broadway production ended up

I dunno why producers cast such pretty boys as Seymour. Sorry, Jeremy, Gideon, Jonathan, and Jake Gyllenhaul are talented singers but they don't scream 'Seymour' to me at all. Hunter, Lee, and Rick Moranis do. They have the nerdy charisma that encapsulates Seymour!

I agree to an extent because I do at the very least think Jeremy can pull off the voice and mannerisms better than Jonathan Groff.
