Yes, in every franchise league. There will be one popular (in terms of fan following) team, that will perform very poorly intentionally and will not win the championship(the owners of this franchise will get money, no matter the team win or loss in any league match) This is to make the fans from that team and other fans wanting that team to win at once in any season. So thereby creating high expectations for that team, every season. And thereby creating hype for the league and continuing to run the franchise league. If any coach is good and wins every match, they shouldn't win (so that the league is intresting to watch for other team fans), then the owner of that franchise will be asked to remove or interfere with the decision made by coach directly by the owners. Unfortunately for PKL, it's Tamil Thalaivas. IPL: RCB ISL: Kerala Blasters PKL: Tamil Thalaivas "Coincidentally" Tamil Thalaivas and blasters have the same owners.
