I currently work as an armed private security guard. I have a very formidable presence. I'm 6'2" and weigh 250lbs solid. I know my weapons, tools and I know how to handle myself. While at work TONIGHT, a guy approached me about doing executive protection. I gave him my card...who knows? Right place right time? We'll see.

You know that scene in ‘Good Will Hunting’? Where Will is told the same by the psychologist and his best friend- “you’ll be doing the same thing 20 years from now and I’ll kill ya! -You have soemthing like of us here have!!! Your gonna waste it becaue you don’t know what you want to do?!” THAT PART! Coming from construction since I graduated high school, there’s something to EP that no other “career” offers. Thats what I want to do, it’s the change I need for my family and to be the man I know I am and should be. Not just swinging a hammer my entire life.

I'm living proof of not having prior leo or mil experience, I took level 1 and level 3 hard skills of Byron's courses. @@Random7NG so far Iv been with my unit for about 5 months but yes. For the most part it’s true unless your on active duty orders or deployment. Don’t quote me tho.

Yes, it’s definitely possible to manage both and we have a number of agents who do. I’ve got agents within my company that do that very thing.👍

I'm 15 rightnow and I'm doing marine corps after college. My only value is that I play football and I'm bilingual. What should I do to prepare myself for the world of executive protection?

I joined the Infantry and then did Law Enforcement after that. I'm now in Security. If this is what you are absolutely sure about, a combat MOS is going to help you a lot more. Security Forces, Recon, etc are great MOS's. Even basic Infantry. If you're not entirely sure this is absolutely for you, you might want a more transferable MOS (something like Intel that will be hugely beneficial out in the real world and might even come with a clearance that will help with picking up work). If you're wanting to get into EP work you can grab a school right after the military and use your GI Bill to pay for it. The adventure starts then. I wish I had done a lot different. I'm doing EP way too late in life. But I have 20+ years of experience in Military, Law Enforcement, and armed security. So my knowledge and experience is great, but I didn't start this at 21 and I wish I could have.
