Just step up and say "I'm going to do this." To me, it's just like buying a house or getting married. You commit to a certain path and do what you need to do, in order to make it work.

Spot on! Starting a machine shop or really any business is acknowledgment of risk. I've seen some folks stuck in perpetual start-up mode because they're waiting for there to be no risk(never going to happen!)

@@bettercnc You can have a solid working relationship with three major customers and dozens of smaller ones and still have everything fall apart in the span of a few months. I've been there and it was not an experience I'd want to repeat. The old adage of don't put all of your eggs in one basket is good advice, but even with your eggs spread across three big baskets you can still fail. As you've noted, there is no business without risk.
