Going to give this a go Chris in and around my village (although the first week is a write off because of COVID!). Great way to encouraging shooting locally and getting your fix if travel is discouraged.

Happy New Year Ian - it is crazy how quickly things can change. I think on those occasions it is so helpful to have some idea of your preferred composition. I wouldn't want to be running around trying to react to what was going on. That would be quite stressful.

Happy New Year Chris! Well what an exciting morning, and such a variety of atmosphere for your last shot of the project. It's been a great project and I'm excited to see everyone's final collections. I've still got a couple more months to finish it off - but I'm excited for what I have so far. It's been a great experience and I've thoroughly enjoyed our "gatherings". All the best for a prosperous and exciting 2022!

Thanks Alan, I am so pleased that you have enjoyed the project. It really was quite an exciting morning. Watching it back I find it funny watching the mist grow ever closer over my shoulder. I was so focused on the photography and the video that I didn't notice until it completely surrounded me.

Great conditions, Chris, and I loved the misty image. I've decided to do a project this year that requires me to get out once a week, every week - it will encourage me to get out with the camera (something I've struggled to do in 2021) and also think outside the box for different ideas. Well, that's the plan anfd I hope I can stick with it. Another terrific vlog.

Happy New Year Chris - Love the “project” idea. We typically plan a significant event each year. Last year it was with your friend Craig Niesen and his wife Shelley. @@ChrisSalePhoto I'm actually working on two projects this year. The first is just capturing an image every month that will be worthy of going on my next calendar. My next video is actually about that! The second project is learning a new technique in Photoshop each month and applying it. I'm pretty skilled with Lightroom, but I would like to learn more about Photoshop that I can apply to my images.

Happy new year to you Chris!!! And what a great result, your image for July is my favorite. I don't have anything like this in my local area, it's just flat with houses, highways and only a few bits that you may call "landscape". How big can this "local area" be? Looking forward to more of your videos this year and hopefully, a trip to the lakes in Autumn!!

Hey buddy! If you are thinking of taking on the project it is totally up to you to define how big the area can be. There is an online meeting tonight at 19:00 GMT for the people taking part in the project. Send me a DM on IG if you are interested in attending.

Chris, stunning photographs over the last year for this project. I am struggling to think of 12 local locations that would work for a project like this in my area. After all, we live in the area of the States that is sometimes referred to as the fly-over states and more locally nicknamed the flatlands. Thank you for sharing and inspiring me. Happy New Year.
@ChrisSalePhoto3 жыл бұрын
Happy New Year buddy! This is the challenge of the project mate, you've really got to search to find the locations. Of course I am lucky to have such amazing scenery on my doorstep, but not everyone taking part has that. There is an online meeting for those taking part tonight at 19:00 GMT. I know it is short notice, but if you are interested in attending email me and I will send you the details.

Excellent content as always Chris… The older I get the more I enjoy the “off the beaten path” locations, the commonplace scenes that everyone sees but few appreciate until the day they’re gone… I’d love to start a “project”, just don’t have the time in the bank right now. Perhaps I’ll do a “6 in 6” project later in the year after life settles down… All the best to you and your better half.

Hey Jemano - Jim is absolutely right, you really don't need expensive camera gear to take great photos. I am a professional, so I have invested in the best gear that I can afford, but even then my camera body is 6 years old. Don't get bogged down by specs (megapixel count, sensor size, dynamic range, etc) the most important thing is to find a camera that you enjoy using and get out and take some photos!
