As someone who collects for years, one tip, NEVER start collecting to many series, especially those ongoing, you will have a heal of stuff to read and it will all mix up. Start slowly, two maybe three series but no more.

That’s is so true and so hard to follow once you are brand new to collecting. It’s really hard to not buy too much at first cause it’s exciting. Right now I am past the curve and think twice before starting a new series. I am also trimming my collection.

Due to money limitations I put a rule on myself. No anime adaptations. Yes I understand the manga usually has more depth and all but if not for that, all I'd have on my shelf is Black Clover, Fire Force, Demon Slayer, Hunter Hunter etc... and probably less than half of the volumes in print. They're great animes with stellar stories that I already know most of. Another personal rule is to get compendiums/omnibus/Vizbig/3in1s mainly because money, also availability, shelf space and possibly aesthetics. The mural that Vagabond Vizbig editions make is nice looking and if I chose to get Death Note, the All in One edition is what I'll get. It looks like a holy book BECAUSE IT IS and its supposedly getting reprinted July 2021 according to Barnes & Noble and retails for $39.99. One last tip is to find local dealers of used manga. While Fire Punch is a good read, it's not something I'll read repeatedly and I'll gladly trade it towards anything else. Happy hunting and good luck!

I don’t do manga adaptations that derive from an anime. The reason being is that the manga tends to not be as good as the anime. Most good manga gets an anime adaptation so it’s kinda hard to follow that rule. But I understand that it’s practical if you have a tight budget. Omnibus are going to save you money but they tend to feel less durable and not as comfortable to read. I don’t like the Vagabond volumes but I’ll get them since singles are OOP. But I rather get the death note singles or the black edition. Because the all in one seems very uncomfortable to read. However it is the most affordable way to go about it. I feel the same way about fire punch. It don’t seem like I’ll want to read it more than once. Great input!

Damnit Komi! I'll finish buying the series as it comes out (US manga) It should end as the anime begins,

Get Backers has 2 main arcs, 1-25 is the first arc and completed publishing in english. They just only printed 3 books of the second arc, Infinity Fortress, in english before Tokyopop shut down. So if you end up liking it, you can still try to find it. I've only watched the anime so far and in it the two arcs are really different, and the first arc ended well. I just finished getting my full set of 1-25 in the manga but haven't had a chance to read it yet.

I didn’t know that. Thanks for the info. And let me know what you think of the series. I may give it a chance since I am always coming across those volumes.

Great video and I see you actually don't just buy manga just for the heck of it like many manga haul videos I see you actually take time to read the stuff you got. Also yuyu hakusho if you want the rest of them I suggest checking amazon to buy the volumes they seem to have many of them and they are not so out of print but I could be wrong but I saw a lot of them on amazon. I luckily have the full 19 volume set of yuyu hakusho great series. the only out of print series I am trying to collect and I know I won't all the volumes is Saint seiya is just too awesome for me to not get as many as I can and just read the rest online the missing volumes haha.

Yes I do enjoy, I want to fill one of my shelf I get. Just one shelf is enough. Do you guys have any short manga recommendations?
@SendohAmari3 жыл бұрын
One Piece lol, just kidding. I would recommend you check out your local library to try out some titles. Or read some chapters on lines. Everyone has different taste, so you want to make sure you buy something that you really like. Unfortunately, I don’t know that many short series.

man ive been debating whether i should buy ajin in english volume by volume which will be much more expensive, or ajin set in japanese. ajin in japanese doesnt have hiragana next to kanji, so it would be dofficult for me to translate them … what do yall think
@SendohAmari3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t get it in Japanese unless you are hardcore serious in learning it. Perhaps you can read it online then take your time collecting the physicals?

My first manga I started was one punch man. I'm on volume 6 right now and I'm reading it online and I'm thinking to start collecting manga. I'm thinking to start buying one punch man from the beginning. Can I just buy volumes 1-5 and put it on my shelf without re-reading it after I just bought it? Ofc I'm still gonna re-read it like on a trip or something
@SendohAmari3 жыл бұрын
Start with the volumes you haven’t read yet. So for example buy volume 7 first and read it. Then you can buy volume 8 and so on. Then in between you can slowly buy the volumes you have already read.
