I would say if you're brand new, you should 100% go with the trike. Not only is it easy to tame (just stand on a cliff or make a simple trap) it can both farm narcoberries, and protect you from threats you don't know how to deal with alone yet on the beach. After trike I would recommend pteradon next, as being able to travel with ease is essential for getting most materials, but upgrade to argentavis asap, as it has much better weight for carrying metal, crystal, or obsidian in bulk, as well as being able to pull their weight in a fight. enjoyed the video as always pterafier!

Stego may be a better tame than trike on certain measurements, but trike is better for starter tame for very very beginners. imo. Also worth mentioning if you have more than 10 hours in the game just skip trike and go to pteradon if you want.

Start on Rag, find carrot potato farm in highlands. Use carrots to Tame horse, use the horse to tame a PT with kick attack. Use the PT to steal a wyvern egg in the scar! Lead the wyverns toward wild dinos to get them off you.

Nobody talks about simple note runs. I always teach new folks how to do basic note runs. They're not hard and you can go from level 3 to level 60 in about 10 minutes, even playing cautious to avoid that random Raptor. Good advice for any beginning bob.

I mean, i realy enjoyed most of this video although. If you realy want to play as a pro (in PVP), Just do things this way. 1 Get all dlc 2 Look for a permanent base spot, either a good cave or a hidden/decent rathole in singleplayer. 3 Join a server (smalltribes/official/modded/ARKpocalypse) Make sure you atleast have a form of comuntication with the alpha tribe on the server if it's on an official type server. 4 Do a note run. 5 go farm mission and drops on genesis 1 and 2. 6 Look for a decently hidden starter spot (densly forested areas, normal base spots or a not as good cave or rathole.). 7 Tame important dinos (snow owl, mana, argentavis anky/magmasaur, bloodstalker) 8 Farm on gen 2 if you're a small or realy big tribe. you can buy resources and tame stryders. 9 get heavies as soon as possible. don't bother with auto turrets. 10 Do bossfights and get tek stuff. 11 While doing all this build up your bond with the alpha tribe(s). 12 ask them if you can take one of their servers caves in return for something (usually element) If you're a big tribe. 12 And look for ratholes or smaller cavesif you're a solo/small tribe. I probably missed some steps. but it's not too big a deal. GL and HF!

Parasaurs also can be turned into turrets and then have dinos follow them allowing you to kill and harvest anything nearby while away.

I don’t care what people say about the parasaur. They are very convenient. If you don’t have a berry collector with you. Tame the lowest level you can find. It’s pretty much an instant tame. The hard part is is getting hide to make a saddle for one. But that’s it. Parasaurs extremely underrated.

Craft cooking pots, they're the new craft meta for early game, with note runs it gives you crazy XP early on

This. If any new players are in the comments and what to level quickly. Then look up a guide on how to do a note run. After you finish your bot run make as many cooking pots as you can while you have your double xp boost. You don't have to use all of your boost but the more the better. You should be around level 80 or higher if your on official settings.

If you know how to do transfers (which you should, but if you don’t it’s very easy to learn from the tons of guides on KZbin) then starting can be infinitely easier.For example:I got really for on aberration, I had a base in the bioluminescent zone and I had several rock drakes.I then started a new game on ragnarok with my friend, so to bolster our progress, I transferred in one of the several rock drakes I have on abb and that make taming, resource harvesting, and base defence so much simpler.Transfers can also be useful for if you are brand new to ark and haven’t gotten far on any of the maps.What you can do is start on one of the easiest maps like rag or crystal isles and get really far on that map (yes it will be time consuming, but that’s what ark is all about) and then once you get far on one of those maps you can transfer tames, resources, items, equipment etc from that map onto the new map you are looking to start on.I did indeed have a hard time starting on aberration, but once I got far and had a couple drakes, I could then start transferring those drakes off to other maps I wanted to start on.You could even go as far as transferring your character over to another map so that you have a max level character right from the get-go, eliminating the need for note runs, crafting copious amounts of XP rich engrams, or killing dinosaurs for XP.Also, if you are on single player, Ima going to commit crimes against the ark community by saying this but here goes:Use creative mode.If you play ark just for fun like me and don’t really want too much griefing and tedious weight management, then creative mode can be your best friend.What I do is I gather materials in creative mode so I don’t get over encumbered, and then I disable creative mode for when I actually frat things out of those mats.Don’t completely rely on creative, but do know that it can be a valuable asset.Now, go forth and survive!And wish me luck for the beating I’m about to receive for recommending creative mode.

If you do a note run on the island then transfer over to Gen 2 then you could build a little stone base somewhere hidden, and then grind missions and buy the basic materials for a smithy. Gen 2 is just very easy to start on because you can go anywhere and build anywhere you want.

My favorite way to start is to get enough xp to get to lvl 60. Then get a crystal wyvern (feed it crystal while on its back) Then get tames and bingo you're ready to go

The first thing i do generally is to tame a Moschops. You need no saddle and it can carry your first wood, stone and metal and also farms fiber, berrys, meat and hide so you have everything you need at the beginning.

⭐ quick question... I went to the green obelisk to make a cryo fridge... Now, when I was done making the cryo fridge I noticed a Rex chilling (literally) in a cryopod in the obelisk inventory... I grabbed it and it belongs to me now, but I've never heard of anybody mentioning this, so I was wondering if it was normal...?

Yup totally normal! You can give creatures away (or get them stolen) by keeping them in cryopods. It essentially unclaims them and reclaims them to whoever throws it out of the cryopod. Great question, gonna add that to a tutorial lol

if you are brand new, you SHOULD ALWAYS start with a note run (normally till level 70-75), after you should go near resources such as mountains in the island and start crafting items like flak and rush a fabricator, once you are good you should rush lvl 81 in order to unlock scuba (this can be achieved by killing alphas) once you are lvl 81 you craft a scuba set and tame a megatherium, after that you have to grab a 4x and 2x explorer notes and head into swamp cave, using the megatherium you kill the enemies inside and you will lvl up to 100. I wouldnt build a stone 2x2, and never close to the beach, they are such easy raids and locations to find, unless is a fresh wipe, you can make a set up with furnaces and smity/fab in the open somewhere hidden and make turrets. then you find a spot where to build and grind for raiding and defence.

I record at 1440p on high settings. I use Nvidia depth of field sometimes which inherently makes it look better lol your PC should be fine although I don't know much about that CPU

I think so? I've genuinely never changed the amount of engram points but if you can't find how to change it you can always pick engrams to auto unlock. I assume that gives you the same amount of engram points but fewer engrams to actually unlock. Worth a shot anyway

After Noterun you can level up better by going to genesis 2, pick up a x4 note find a x2 spot and farm metal in the bridge biome, get metal until you are capped. Next thing make about 20 refining forges and fill them up with the metal you farmed. Farm wood to fill them up and get the ingredients for a industrial forge. Find a good base spot and start going for electronics in extinction (you can farm about 400 bloodpacks to tame a 150 bloodstalker in genesis 2 at the top right corner for that) hopefully now at lv 100 (otherwise search up swamp cave) go for heavy turrets and a chem bench, fill you industrial forge with wood and fill you heavies up, thats a good starting point for now, next thing you wanna prepare for are boss fights, either get rhino's yourself and hope you don't get killed or farm element dust and buy a boss fight for tekgrams good luck, this game is cursed
