I have these for a Vanguard force. Not sure I'd want to paint up units of some of the models but they good for the small game.

Best looking faction, and the one I’m considering, love the models, but still not sure if I really want to get into this game and idk if the models are really worth the investment

Gotta get a good group around you, depending on where you are there might be big communities or nothing. Melbourne for instance has a vibrant community. As far as the models are concerned, the basileans are some of the older range, but the look of the soldiers with angels is very evocative. Just be ready for sculpts that are not quite as crisp as AoS, but they are much cheaper.

Get the right models you like, slap them on the right size unit base and enjoy. Yes it is good to support the Mantic range for their game, but most player scenes know that over half their players are still using old GW models or all printed models these days so most anything is welcome.

The Blessing of the Gods is fine in general, but since your elohi might be able to bring the paladins elite anyway, maybe try some other item like Sir Jesse's boots of striding, so they can charge without penalty for one turn. That or brew of strength, which is just always good hehe.

blessing i like as it allows the paladins to fight solo or on an opposite flank to the elohi.

Their minis just aren't as pretty as AoS models

The Basileans range isn't, but the latest Halflings and now the ogres are on par (especially the ogres, they're new plastics maker in Poland is just phenomenal, take a look at Archon Studios stuff)
