Became an "overnight" sensation after years of hard work. 3. There is more to him than just "business as usual." 4. Gives back to the "community". I know I am watching this at the right time but I must admit that I wish I watched it one year ago. Thank you for posting this Evan and #BelieveTeam. Mr. Robert Smith and I have some commonalities (similar first degrees, similar drive and similar philosophy) I am truly happy that I am watching this at the age of 25. I love all of his rules. He was inspired by James Bond, I am very much inspired by Bruce Wayne. A few things he has said that resonate with me... 1. "You can actually make more money being smart than you can by being strong or fast. The importance of developing Intellectual Property can not be underestimated." 2. Running your own race demands trusting yourself even when others don't. 3. You have to put consistent action behind your vision for it to manifest. 4. Dreaming BIG is a very important part of running your own race. 5. Have and demonstrate GRIT. 6. Education is not enough. BE PERSISTENT. I know theoretically that I will have to put in the 10,000 hours. This reinforced the need for those 10,000 hours on the road to perfecting my craft. PS: I do not believe I will ever perfect it but I will enjoy the journey.

This guy is really inspiring I’d never heard of them before. Like when he said, “understand your background but don’t let it hold you back”. The work ethic, the understanding that you are in control of your own destiny, it’s all stuff that we’ve heard before but it’s great to hear it from somebody who actually put it in the practice with magnificent results.
Evan Carmichael I just read that he dumped his wife of 30 years who had given him his children so that he could marry a playboy bunny. Sort of lost a little bit of respect for the guy at that point. I guess he’s just a man after all

I am thankful to hear Robert F Smith's comment on what some of his colleagues thought about him they thought he was crazy. So I feel like he's my brother not only for that reason but what I'm saying is there are number of people that think I'm crazy however it's not about being crazy it's about exercising your faith.....

He was (Robert Smith) was great! I did Leverage B/O of my former employer in the mid- 80s of small jewelry firm. Every aspect of this video is so true, because friend's will tell you're nuts! Creditors will believe in you only if you sell them on a convincing outcome or end game. And best of all "Those doubters, will eventually become your biggest fans" at the end of the day.

This is the true bell ringer, even if you don't strive to be a billionaire or noted venture capitalist. One should always want to be the person others come to for answers. Yes, you do have to work additional hours both in and outside of work. The thought process never leaves you, as you are constantly counting, figuring, deciphering trying to understand problems. When the person above you needs that answer, needs to understand, you will get the call, so always be ready.

The beauty of Mr. Smith's presentation was that unlike MOST successful black folks, he didn't redirect to our personal failings (e.g. Obama; Bill Cosby, Morgan Freeman, et al) as being the most prevalent reason for our struggles. He kept it factual, skipped over the social impediments, and imbued us to embrace the belief that our God-ordained greatness will allow us to overcome those constructed barriers - provided we skip no steps and maintain our resiliency through to the end. One of the moist poignant COME UP presentations I've ever heard in my life.
