Finally in closing David reminds us - We cannot expect a 460 change in what we have practiced since childhood youthfulness, unless JESUS fully occupies and generates such a man

I liked what you said. Marrying foreign women was not prohibited according to God's Torah, given through Moses, as long as they were converts (not to Judaism but) to the God of Israel. Mixing with pagan women always brought a separation from serving YHVH.

Solomon started out ok, wanting to serve, and sought God for wisdom (His mom & dad didn't give him) but it didn't take long before the affluence of riches (among other things) started to tug at his heart - He build His own house 1st, and ignored the Temple God's house for 7 years Allowances & Indulgences will always be the downfall of many a good man or woman - just ask any dieter wanting to lose weight

When We Practice Sin We Identify with Sin and because of our prone nature, We Become - Guilty as Sin Who will rescue us? How will we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? If you know - answer here

Pastor David brings many things to the table not easily seen today - for starters it seems to me, the great wise King Solomon in a time of Peace handed off to him as an inheritance baby from all the bloody warring of his father, did not need to make such alliances, yet still choose to do so. In addition to that, Solomon FORGOT HISTORY (God always playing out in the background - and so do we, for those who don't learn from the past, they are doomed to repeat it). You ask how is that so? It took 10 plagues for GOD Himself to deliver his chosen people, his children from the mean, tyrannical wicked hands of the hardened heart and evil ruler of Egypt the Pharoah. Many consider Moses great, but it was God doing the PASSOVER deliverance of His people always working in the background, Moses like us was just along for the ride and show of 4th of July fireworks.

There are a lot of affluent Solomon's out there today. How many live by their own tastes and preferences? You see, Solomon ... KNEW KNEW still ,.. GOD Right/Wrong Put SELF & desires 1st to make a practice of ignoring God is to seal our doom and fate a man without God - is indeed a hopeless man

So the ROOTS of Solomon's downfall - start with his parents not scolding, not sparing the rod, not correcting their "spoiled" heir to the "Throne" seeing his dad's example, and being allowed to marry an Ammonite. Isn't it odd, that while Joab was out fighting as David should have been = they were fighting the Ammonites.

Solomon showed some of this when he came to rule the Throne, I am ut a boy - what he thought of himself wasn't much so it wasn't hard for a pretty girl with a cunning smile to easily take advantage of him Solomon despite being a WEALTHY King of endless supply a Powerful Ruler gave up his honor his dignity and his discipline for forbidden fruit the lust of a good man has made him a man with a marred reputation many a weak woman has brought down a strong man When a boy doesn't think a girl will consider him, he will sacrifice to get her attention she will laugh at his silliness, for a few winks of FADING beauty & passion the devil and his imps say mission accomplished and move on sifting more and more, either we SELL OUT for GOD or we are SOLD out into Slavery - to Sin

“And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. 15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, 16 saying, “What shall we do to these men? For, indeed, that a notable miracle has been done through them is evident to all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it. 17 But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from now on they speak to no man in this name.” 18 So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. 20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.” Acts 4 EPIC DOWNFALL

Too many glance over this and say, that was then, this is now, how does this apply to me??? Oh but it does young grasshopper - God is not a kill-joy. In fact He is the one who designed JOYOUS MAXIMUS under the right conditions. He warns a lot like Moses and Paul did - you are going to have a hard time in life, if you say you love one another, but have 2 completely different agendas Serving Self - or Serving God? When we LACK Self-Control We then are subject to being CONTROLLED by our lusts and passions Don't believe me? We talked about this yesterday, ask the world's strongest man - Samson and ask the world's IQ/GQ man the happening King of Izzy - Sol they would tell you SIN is more powerful than muscle and smarts
