Yeah. Tip #8 17:03 - I watched another guy on youtube do this. He was making labels for each time the story / elements / layers changed.

One personal thought. Experimenting and hoping for the best has been a gamechanger for me. For me that results in better stuff than using my music theory.

Sure well if it works and leads to good results then it’s not wrong. However I would say it may take longer to get to the same result and isn’t repeatable through experimentation and hoping for the best, where theory-based experimentation can be done over and over again very quickly

you even said the name of what I want to produce. melodic house. Not because it's new-ish and gaining popularity, but because it's helped to change and further heal my procrastinative habits in a Real, measurable way. Praana is right about it being musical medicine.

Right on, melodic house is the best 🤘

What do you think about this: due to blessings, I have the $ for a Poly Brute 12. I don't yet own any equipment besides a Machine drum pad I bought Ages ago... which will be a fun midi controller. I hear you saying that.. stock sounds, and sounds for sale are good enough to create full tracks that sound quality.. But there is this part of me that ... definitely wants an Arturia Poly 12 in my dining room. I think I'll first focus on finishing my first couple tracks using stock sounds, after hearing your advice, just to get into a work flow. I'm THAT new lol. But I'm also 36 and I can hear nearly every single layer, nuance, even volume changes before having yet researched electro technical terms.. my amateur-electro ear is wise.. I can tell you why I like Lane 8 or Praana more than Bohmer, clearly based on personal tastes. Personal tastes which matters above all else. I may have answered my own question due to your advice.. but I guess I'm asking now... what do you think about me 1. finishing my very first 1-2 tracks, start to finish. 2. and Then getting a Poly Brute 12.. which is a machine that is just inspiring af.. I've watched so many videos on it ? if guitar center lets me get it for Thomann's price, $3300 ish, .. I might jump on that, that day. that's $600 ish below retail. this aside, I'm saving the Fk out of your video into so many folders to be SURE that I return, i'll just print a title of it and post to my dining room wall. I live alone and can do that. lol thank you so much. I've watched 4-5 videos, even from Bohmer, on how to produce.. and you've communicated so much more, in an organized manner, that I can see will save myself and many others like 10 years worth of self-learning, just by following your advice. Thank you.

That’s a big investment, it’s not what you have it’s how you use it. If you’re wanting to really make big changes, that money would be much better spent on your education, knowing how to use the tools that you do have, rather than a synth that will likely collect dust after a few weeks of fun. Digital synths on the computer are much easier to use and superior to hardware ones in my opinion, and the opinion of many of my producer network. But hey if you want it and think it will help, then go for it
