START to FINISH bodywork and paintwork! Putting lipstick on a pig! Homemade Mega Cab Ep:9!

Time to take this multi colour truck, strip it down, prime and paint it! For this old work truck and the conditions of the paint job, we did pretty good!
Now I wouldn’t really consider this as a how to video, I’m likely the last person you would want to take bodywork advice from, but it’s a before and after and entertainment haha.

Solid attempt, bro I would mask the black and hit the blue again use a good light taped to the gun looks like it got painted with a rattlecan you might have to mess with your mix ratio might need to thin it more so it will flash off also the cold temperature and moisture going to effect how it comes out might want to try again in peak summer heat I did my ratrod flame job outside in the dirt with Rust-Oleum and came out nice I have done tons of rattlecan jobs so first time using a $20 harbor freight sprayer my mind was blown how good it can come out get some paper or cardboard practice covering it/play with the gun settings loving the double cab dually conversion btw 😎👍

I had a 1980 F100 Ranger Explorer that was Midnight Blue with Sky Blue insert and on top of the cab. Loved my 1st truck and love what you are doing with this one. Great Job

That ain't no pig, thats a BULL man! Pretty damn impressive man. I like the ingenuity and the will to go where no one else really goes. Really want to see this all finished. Im mechanically restoring my 81 F100 ranger I drove 22 years ago in highschool. Cab is off my Grandpas 81 f100 ranger and the rest of the truck is my Dads 85 shortbed. Dads truck caught fire in the cab christmas of 96, Dad and Grandpa put the 81 cab on and then Dad gave me the truck in 99.

pretty kool build!!! alot of work invested so far. dont stop yet! a 2nd coat of blue would be a good idea before clear. your future self will thank you when you can appreciate the effort you put in now. good work! your creation is amazing!!!!

I completely agree, I learned a lot from the blue so when I did the black it turned out a lot more even, I’m still not sure why the paint came out as a rough texture on the bed top drivers side for the blue, must have been the settings on the gun but not sure.

Awesome video Colt! Old blue looks great. Its a truck made out of multiple 80's trucks. Is it perfect no. It is however something that you can say you built from the ground up. It was built to do truck stuff and look bad ass doing it! I hope my old truck turns out half as good as yours did when im done. As always Colt im looking forward to the next video. Cheers

11:07 some of the glass is "more safe" I know with f body camaros a 1994 glass isn't the same material as a 1999 or newer

Hard to say, I know they are both tempered but maybe because the later wing window glass doesn’t go to as aggressive of a point maybe it’s less prone to stress shatter, hard to know though

About 600 because of the automotive paint, that was the highest cost item

The words hammered crap come to mind….dude you did a ton of nice work to just throw a crap paint job on it. At least fix all the runs and thin spots on it. This project it too cool to half ass it on the paint.

Nah I get it…you seriously put in some excellent fab work. I’ve really enjoyed watching the build. Just don’t sell yourself short on the paint and body is all. I shouldn’t have been such a punk with my first comment so, my apologies.
