You have just helped me solve my problem. I could never get the amounts of hair right when braiding my own hair. It never occurred to me to use my fingers to measure out the amount of hair for the size of my braids. Thank you so very much

This is the best tutorial I've see on box braids. I liked how you thoroughly explained things. Do you have any tips on how to make the braids light? Last time I cut the hair in half and had so many braids that I couldn't put it into a ponytail . any suggestions you have would be great 😁

jane b thanks hun, I'm glad I could help! It took me 10 hours bearing in mind that I was filiming the whole process as well as demonstrating all the techniques. So basically it should take you less than 10 hours, depending on how well you grasp the braiding technique xx

Thanks hun! All I do to maintain my braids is wrap them with a satin cloth at night & oil my scalp twice a week, if you're keeping your braids in for over a month you can also purchase braids shampoo from any beauty supply store. Honestly braids don't really need that much maintenance that's why I love them! Hope this helpsx

Does your natural hair have to be the same width as the braiding hair when doing your parts?

It's all up to you. If the width of your natural hair is smaller than the width of your braiding hair that's fine (assuming you want a lot of braids on your head) however, if your natural hair width is considerably larger than the braiding hair, you will end up having less braids on your head. In the same way, if your natural hair size is similar to your braiding hair you will have an average amount of braids on your head. So it's all up to you & what you would prefer.
