Awesome build. I'm currently in the middle of a build on a 95 Dodge Promaster. I'm in the Conway area, what part of AR are you guys located?

I have a small trailer, but I'm thinking about Class B. I found 2023 ProMaster, Ram1500 for $50,000. It would cost much less than buying a Thor for $120,000 if I converted it by myself or by someone. How much enough budget should I expect? and It would have more towing capacity (5000 LB) than a regular Class B (3500LB) from a big brand, right?

My suggestion. The 1500 is for city driving. Light duty. The 2500 and 3500 are much stouter. Budget $25K for a used 2500. At around 60 - 70K miles. Not a work truck that's been beat up on job sites. If you want a real Class B/C, buy a 2008 - 2010 Winnebago View 24J. Less than $50K, much more room, and all the work has been done. Fridge. Gen. Solar. Real bathroom and shower. Stove. Oven. Turn key. 15 MPG. You can retreat to a real RV park. Water. Juice. Sewer. That's probably what I'm going to do.

Were you worried about your suspension with only a 2500 and how much did the van weigh after the conversion?

Hey, wasn’t worried at all with the 2500. It can handle a decent amount of weight, this particular build was on the lighter end anyways. I’m pretty sure at weigh-in with me inside (160lbs) the van weighed roughly 5600lbs. Plenty of more could be added before you reach that roughly 9,000lbs gross weight.

It’s a light build weighing in at 56-5700lbs. I can check on the dash and see the mpg but I’m thinking last time I looked it was 16? I’ll have to see
