Rashy starts over Garna, I’m 55/45 on this one but Garna already has a reputation as an impact sub and Palace use wingbacks, let them trek all along the touchline for 60 minutes and introduce Garnacho then. Ugarte is a worry, I don’t know if he’ll get booked all that much - he didn’t pick a card vs Bansley - but he gives away fouls in positions that Eze would love. The fact that he goot stomped on, bloodied and Barnsley got the free kick is a bad indication. Ref did apologise afterwards I think, but he already looks the part of the tough DM and if a trigger happy ref decides to rein him in… I honestly don’t know who starts in that midfield. Eriksen with enough protection is the guy that can give us a breather, but we’re not doing that anyway even when he’s on the pitch. Kobbie will get bullied again and he’s skirting a red, looks very frustrated. Casemiro is way too static. I’d go Ugarte/Mainoo maybe, but that’s where I’m really worried. Zirkzee starts no matter what unless we really want to play from the wings only. Most of the play will go through there anyway, but he gives options in that congested midfield, because who’s going to drop to receive, Bruno? And please place our wingers deeper. The fullbacks will need the protection and the midfield will need the passing options.

If we want to be a possession based side , a player like Paul Scholes or Toni Kroos is needed in that midfield and at the moment only Eriksen has that quality of dictating the tempo of games. Ugarte is a tackler, Mainoo is a Zidane like player and Bruno rarely shows that patience, so if we can somehow give a defensive protection to Eriksen, we will start controlling games. This relentless pressing, counter pressing and counter attacking transition football will eventually result in a lot of injuries.

Casemiro, Ugarte and Bruno midfield is needed. Eriksen does not have the legs, but he is way better than Bruno. Bruno tries Hollywood passes 24x7 and all you need is a hand on his back to take away the ball from him. This is the reason for his high volume of assists but the downside is that the team then has zero control and gives away chances left right and centre. Mainoo should come on as a sub for Casemiro later in the game. If we lockdown our midfield, chances are going to come automatically. There is no need to force the issue by overcommitting our midfielders.
