@NatDelfin2 ай бұрын
United players make individual mistakes, true, but individual mistakes are part of football and happen in the best teams & clubs. The problem at United is much deeper, United's problems reach far into structural areas inside the club, and into the coaching areas as well, besides the players. Ten Hag is proving he doesn't have a clue over& over again. Even at Madrid, Zidane would push Casemiro up into #8 in the buildup and have Modric-Kroos take early responsibility. Casemiro would then slot deeper when the ball had progressed or when they were out of possession. Good profiling to mitigate weakness. How don’t United see it? The elite teams began figuring out that Casemiro was the press trigger. But Zidane adapted, he asked Toni Kroos to drop deeper to form a pivot to bypass the first press. This worked brilliantly, it allowed Marcelo and Carvajal more freedom to push higher. But United's coaching staff is useless and doesn't see it. The same was true with Cristiano - Cristiano works the best with a second striker in a setup that United had, moving more like a free electron, yet they kept leaving him alone in the box area and just wanted him to be stale. Even Mourinho said that Ten Hag has no idea how to use Cristiano properly in the team, google it. See? The problem is that Ten Hag and the current United coaching staff have no clue how to use the players they have. Bruno is another example - he has great stats, but stats are meaningless if the reality on the pitch is awful. Most of the United problems actually come from the midfield, as Bruno constantly leaves open spaces and misplace passes. He is not a defensive midfielder, he is an attacking midfielder and very bad at defensive work. United has too many attacking players or to describe it better: too many players in the midfield who only have their minds set on attacking instead of defending, which leads to awful open spaces for the opponents. Ten Hag has been there for more than 2 years, and he is still unable to properly organize the team on the pitch and to implement any kind of coherent style. That's the fact. So I'm all for players taking responsibility for their mistakes, but the coach has to take responsibility too, and the truth is Ten Hag is way out of his depth!!

Erick Ten Hag type of players: Onana, Martinez ,Shaw,Dalot,Mainoo,Bruno, Hojlund and Garnacho. I promise you if we can add a Centre back like Saliba, a winger with the work rate and skill like Leão(very consistent unlike Rashford), a Midfielder Like Rodri or a young Modric than we will do something special. We have to take into consideration that this guy wanted De Jong as his first choice, he would have loved to have Kane but Spurs were not going to sell him to rival. They couldn't even sell him to City because of the price. The only bad signing this guy has made is Anthony. Mount has been injured. Players Ten Hag found in the club and he wouldn't keep if he could sell them all: Varane(not that great on the ball and always injured), Maguire,Lindelof, Bissaka,Sancho(very lazy but talented), Martial, Rashford if he could replace him with a better winger with the right attitude, Mctominay, Casemiro (if only he got De Jong). Personally as Man United fan if we sack this guy, I promise you their is no manager that we win the league or be competitive in terms of winning the league with this whole group together. It's a group that has to be broken apart. He did not achieve 3rd place and a league cup because his a bad manager. There are games last season that United played how he would actually want them to play: Against Arsenal at Old Trafford (The first 15 minutes) Against Arsenal away from home(the first 15 minutes) Against Chelsea away from home( the first 45 minutes) Against Liverpool away from(the first 45 minutes) Against Bournemouth at home Against Wolves away from home Against Forest home and away Against Everton away from home Again Spurs at home Watch all those games and you will see signs of what this guy was trying to build. Guardiola and Klopp did not start winning immediately. Before Guardiola came to City they were already playing good football, they only had a bad season prior to his arrival but he found players who could adapt easily to his style of play. Klopp won nothing in his first two full seasons at Liverpool and his first full season at Liverpool they played well but conceded a lot of goals because they had a bad defence. Go and check it out. United will fail if we continue changing managers without breaking playing group apart.

Notice the switch in demeanor the second season… At a stage the job got to him, the cancer of a club had put many managers in that situation (when I saw it with ole, one thing was obvious to me, he had no way back). With Erik, he didn’t want to quit, the FA cup final showed me that exactly, I saw a man go back to the board and just coach, and he won. For next year I want him to go back to being him, he’s an elite gaffer, a serial winner and for him to succeed he needs to own himself first and not lose it to the press, club or player power. Guess what? I think he’s got the swagger back, recent press interviews have been witty and confident, their is a sense of accomplishment and hopefully no delusion that the task ahead is still huge, but INEOS supporting him and sticking with him even with external pressure, fills me with more hope that he’ll gain that belief again. But i think let's wait and see 2024/25 season... Sacking a manager kills the team. I actually think that I Ole Gunner was given Time, money to buy players and authority to manage the club, by now th team would be with premier league. Let's be patient with managers.

@@theemotionalremix it's clear it isn't a manager problem. Ten Hag showed his ability with GA Eagles, Utretcht and Ajax already. He's a great coach. Not getting his first options in transfers, multiple injuries in the squad to important players etc do affect the team play style. Just think man

I dont understand why this guy gets so much flak!!! In his two seasons we have reached 3 finals, won 2! Yes European Football and league football left a lot to be desired for but at the end of the day, we have to look this guy got us to a third placed finish a year before as well. We had 60+ Injuries this season and people worrying about style of play, the players we have at united arent good enough for a possession based system, they just arent!!! Arteta is in his 5th year and hasn't won anything significant but look at the football they are playing and its only a matter of time before they win something big and that only happened when Arsenal board supported him. Just imagine why the hell would a coach change his system which has worked wonders for him now! He clearly sees what we don't. Also the people who bash him for spending loads of money, he didn't spend 100m on Antony! the useless negotiator and the board did. He wanted the player but never in a million years for a 100 Million fee. I think he deserves another season honestly, with the players he have at his disposal and upcoming transfer window, I really think he can make a difference to this united side. People want him to be replaces with Mckenna (The same guy they blamed isn't good enough for united backroom staff during ole's tenure), Southgate (I mean come on). If we sacked every manager without giving him time, we would be stuck in this endless loop of squad building, hiring and firing managers every 2 years. We need to stick with him, and INEOS need to clear the shit out of the Organisation as a whole who have been thoroughly incompetent in their jobs.

I’ll admit i was one of many frustrated fans hoping he would leave, but I now hope at the very least he gets given the reigns to prove himself with full backing from the club. I hope he has no/less injuries and a chance to build the club up. Judging him off one season trying to force his new tactics onto jose/ole’s leftovers isnt a fair assessment of his ability or vision.

Erik knows some of the starting 11 can’t play the football he wants and for them to try it would further sink ship because they have counter attacking football embedded in them so he got them through to the end of the season and still got a trophy this season coming he will further add and hopefully will be more successful

He came in with a counter-attacking style of football. Having delivered the trophy in his first season, he tried to expand on attacking dominant footbabll to fit the Manchester United DNA. It was only in the last 4 games of the season, with all lost that he reverrted to his Ajax style and the results changed dramatically. I say keep the formation ETH - Manutd don't have the personnel to play dominating football

With Martinez and Varane playing together, and had ETH gotten the midfielder he thought he would get to replace Fred and the CB in the mold of KMJ, no matter how debatable his performances were for bayern as long as he stay fit, we would have easily baked another 15 to 20 points, 2 more games in the UCL at the very least. I also believe what he said that Media scrutiny affected players psychologically which led to some of the injury concerns. I say some because I know what's its like playing with low confidence
