Digital arts collective The Media Workshop are the creatives behind this year’s headline spectacular at the Civic Centre. A colourful projection mapping of 3D images and video will appear on the building’s facade for guests to get lost in while following a bespoke story unfolding around the theme of MOMENT.
The Media Workshop team love to create high impact, interactive projections designed to astound and surprise audiences. Their work transforms the relationship between people and their environment and offers a great opportunity to explore how 3D projection mapping can change perceptions of public places.
Arts by the Sea is thrilled to have appointed Annie Frost Nicholson aka The Fandangoe Kid as this year’s Artist In Residence who worked in collaboration with The Media Workshop to create this beautiful piece! Annie is a multidisciplinary artist, who makes work predominantly for the public realm. Annie’s work will feature as part of the 3D projection mapping on Bournemouth Civic Centre and will be dotted across the festival site where she’ll transform everyday objects in the town centre using bright and wonderful visuals.
Annie Nicholson’s practice seeks to create platforms for dialogue on the complexities of life, death and the human condition. The artist has several permanent installations in London including The Hope Exchange, designed as part of London Design Festival's 20th anniversary for Londoners to escape their hectic lives. She runs a regular radio show called The Grief Mixtape on Soho Radio and is the author of Tender Hearted Bold Moves.
