Today's lesson is after a whole month, it started of with trying to sit in silence and getting Erin to be independent and drive without any guidance, that changed...
Turning into an on going hazard perception and prompting lesson.
Erin drives her own car in between lessons, the other car is much smaller than this one. So this does affect her judgement with space on her driving lesson.
Thank you all for your continued support

The instructor is right. It’s very important Erin sees what mistakes she’s making, and understands them. Then learn from them all. It’s easy to say yeah but when you’re on your own and an accident happens. It’s the instructors job to make sure you’re road worthy and can see you know and understand any dangers. Great channel I’m enjoying these videos. We’re all learning even experienced drivers.

It's so nice to hear your emphasis on zebra crossings. I've had experiences before where I was at the crossing and was in the right to cross but took an extra second because there was a car coming. They drove right past it. If I hadn't had hesitated, they'd have hit me. So I always do that annoying thing of waiting until a car has stopped (even if it's a little in the distance and I could technically begin crossing before) because I've had experiences where I might have been killed

I've checked the highway code on this one, I guess it falls on both the pedestrian and driver to wait until situation safe? Some drivers may be too close to crossing to stop safely. Rule 19 Zebra crossings. Give traffic plenty of time to see you and to stop before you start to cross. Vehicles will need more time when the road is slippery. Wait until traffic has stopped from both directions or the road is clear before crossing. Remember that traffic does not have to stop until someone has moved onto the crossing. Drivers and riders should give way to pedestrians waiting to cross and MUST give way to pedestrians on a zebra crossing (see Rule H2). Keep looking both ways, and listening, in case a driver or rider has not seen you and attempts to overtake a vehicle that has stopped.

Okay, so Erin made the decision to show up to the driving lesson with only 2 hours of sleep. That is to me A Big Serious Fault. The lack of sleep reduces her awareness and the ability to think properly while on the road. Just listen to her not really trying to answer amans questions WHILE driving....too much to process due to lack of sleep. And I could see Amans reaction when Erin openly admitted that she only slept 2 hours that day. Bad decision making, bad planning before taking the wheel.....therefore you're not capable of driving, due to lack of sleep you are a danger to yourself and others around you. And also, even if Aman has an extra set of pedals on her side,.....she was put in danger as well. I wish for Erin to succeed of course, but also needs to get her shit together.

@edwardwilloughby3783

It’s not really that funny, it just shows a negative attitude the whole time. Driving is about attitude as much as it is about skill, if you hate red lights then you’re going to try to rush through like Erin does throughout the video. She needs to change her attitude and not just her skills before she can become a good driver.

@@venti3273 The thing is that subconsciously she chooses to say something negative about an entirely neutral situation. It doesn’t matter if she’s joking or not because she obviously doesn’t like stopping for red lights (as you can see in other videos), which just makes her a more dangerous driver. If she had a more positive attitude and didn’t see red lights as ‘attacking her’ (subconsciously or not) then she’d be fine stopping for them and there would be no issue.

Yeah, I'm really impressed how confident and decisive has Erin's driving become compared to the beginnings. Especially with her generally very chilled demeanor, you might think it would take her a while to be ready to take positive decisions, but she's become so good and natural at that. Well, perhaps a little too unperturbed even, at times :) -- but I'm sure it's actually the much better attitude to be a little ignorant of the potential risks in the beginning: way preferable to having to gradually overcome a constant anxiety. You can train yourself to be "intellectually" cognisant of the hazards and react to them in a procedural sort of manner then. Awesome progress, good job! PS Aman, what an effort to embed subtitles on the video, wow! That must be quite a lot of extra work.

The "its basically green" comment is very annoying to me. Dont get me wrong ive deliberately ran a few ambers in my time, but as a learner she shouldnt even have that thought process. Amber =/= basically green if its on its way to red, if anything its basically red, not green. Its a dangerous way to think, especially on roads like these & cross roads. Like theres one about 1 min down the road from where i live, and people constsntly run the ambers becsuse of this kind of thinking, and numerous times people have been wiped out because its a blind cross roads with traffic light controls. It isnt worth the risk sometimes, especially where you cant see/theres more than one set of lights

Also I can understand as a learner you might want to do things that your instructor is telling you not to do, ie don't move left. Blind faith is good in this situation because you have no idea and they do!!!

At 10 mins in....If she didn't brake for the zebra crossing, I would have expected the instructor(yourself( to have used the brakes. He could have easily stepped out .

A busy and tricky place for Erin to learn to drive. Two hours of sleep is mental😲

Hi, on that zebra crossing with the bus. I might have too slowed, in case someone eg on a bike was fast assuming a right of way for both carriageways. But with a central area, both are considered separately so wasn’t she fine to keep her speed as there was nobody on or waiting on her side of the crossing? So technically she was ok but from a safety point of view she could have been extra cautious? Just checking- passed in 1999 but that doesn’t stop me wanting to learn!😂

yeah, seems a bit extra considering there's a middle area but still good to be aware

Wow. Just wow. ;) In several cases, my driving instructor would have slammed on the breakes and get the car to a full stop. Just to startle me up. Escpecially at the pedestrian crossings.(for a good reason, ofc) But then again, my driving intructor got a ticket for speeding during a lesson, while I was driving. Greetings from Germany. Driving in the UK looks like hell from a german perspective.. ;)

Damn Aman starting to lose her cool, never thought I would see it. I think the main problem is that Erin is taking a whole month between lessons, so it is very difficult for her to build on what she has already learnt..and she is probably forgetting somethings. I dunno I don't think this is going to end well.

A lot of learners are reckless because they don't have enough experience to understand why they need to be more careful. It will come with time, and it's good for them to make the mistakes in a safe environment with somebody who can stop the car if need be.

The amount of patience you have is crazy, and omg she would’ve easily reached 1 or 2 dangerous faults if this were a test. I hope she learns to be a safer driver

5:40 In South Africa many of the drivers treat the green light as "Go" and the yellow light as "Go faster". So many people have died on our South African roads because of this.

How unutterably sweet is Erin? She will do absolutely fine. 20 years of bumbs anbd scrapes ahead - but she's essentially ready. Also I knew all those streets lived there 20 years.

I don’t even know why I see this videos if I’m about to get my driver’s license in Spain, where we drive on the right and I don’t understand half of the signals in england, but I’m learning some vocabulary I guess 😅 (and hopefully something to pass my driving test soon)
This is why its important to do a mock test before your actual tests!
