He was famous for playing obnoxious yet hilarious characters like Chet and Hudson, but in reality he was a thoughtful, intelligent man. I could listen to his stories for hours. He's gone way too soon.

While I was 600 miles away in west Texas, I will never forget watching this unfold on TV. I wasn't old enough to understand exactly what was going on, but I knew it wasn't good. Those images have stuck with me all these years. I love to hear stories from people that were actually there that fateful day.

I grew up in Tx same time Bill did and lived in Ft Worth a while. Bill was great guy and down to earth Texan didnt let fame go to his head. Anyone that grew up in Tx at that time always remembers Nov 22nd JFK. Will really miss Bills work. He is great in the new series Training Day on CBS. Same CBS did not give it more publicity. RIP to one of the good guys.

Bill Paxton was one of my all time favorite actors. He played private Hudson on Aliens and nailed it. Recently he played sergeant Farell on Edge of tomorrow with Tom Cruise. What in the hell happened? A cardiac surgery gone wrong?

"Parkland" has its issues, as do so many movies, but it's definitely worth a watch. James Badge Dale certainly stood out to me, as well, as the conflicted and very decent Robert Oswald.
