Lol. The harness can be frustrating if it brittle from heat cycling, but I would have never thought that was the hardest part. Man you the first person to even comment about the harness in 2.5 years.

Harness definitely is giving me a struggle as we speak. Everything else is spot on and simple. How did you unplug or move those harnesses?

@Tray c. They're actually really easy to remove and reinstall once you know how they work, wish all electrical connections were designed the way they are

Went to the mechanic today he said it was the battery he programmed it and tightened the starter Oil change and everything works good. He said that the car is computerized everything is based on the computer it’s a big computer in the car.

Ok thank you sorry about late reply, What was the reason for you to change your starter was car not starting? I’m getting a code DTC CD8E10 Lin Bus communication does that point me to the starter or is it a bad ground connection.

Hey Grant I have 2013 bmw 550i xdrive new engine installed last year. This past week my car won’t start just a click sound you think it’s the starter or something else recently replaced battery same issue. Give me a quick update on this issue. If it’s the starter then it has to be replaced.

I would probably point to the starter. Do you have Ista, there may be a test or codes stored.

Hows that open intake holding out for u? No proper airflow without that air channel ? Also how much was that intake?

The intake has been awesome! Get great intake sounds. Right now a buddy let me borrow the intake to try it out, but it was less than $75 to build. Airflow hasn’t been an issue at all.

Hi Grant, thanks for the video. Did the car gave you any error for the starter? I have a 2011 BMW 535, I went through a flooded street and the engine stalled. I can't crank the engine at all, I can't hear the engine starter. I removed the filter, removed spark plugs, changed oil, and the pistons looks good, checked with camera, I was at very low speed. Do you think I should change the starter this time? Or any fuse or electronics that might have disabled it?

I didn’t get any warning. I was just stranded at the gas station, then a message popped up saying I couldn’t restart. I would definitely try swapping out the starter. It’s a cheap option.

@@LASLAY13 I honestly don’t remember. When my starter went out I pulled up to a gas station to get gas. Turned off the car and saw a message that said something that said malfunction. I wasn’t paying full attention, because I was trying to calculate my E85 content. When I tried to start the car, it wouldn’t crank. I had to sit at the gas station a mile from my house for an hour waiting for a tow.

@@jvz_5.0 Yeah, my car was slow to start for a while, then no crank at all. It sounds like it could definitely be you starter. Unfortunately, the only way I know to test, is to pull the starter and bench test it. Search bench test starter here on KZbin and you can find videos on how to do it. Good luck!

Good vid a week too late for me my starter went the other day😀. I have the exact car that you have year and all keep up the vids I have to change the rear bushings and a motor mount on mines you might want to check yours. They start to go around the 100,000 to 120,000 mark.

@@richardallen8366 How many miles on your car? It’s work, but you can pull your starter and bench test it. I tested mine when I pulled it and it was definitely bad.
