Starter Locs on 3b/3c hair | 1 month loc journey | comb coil starter locs

On Jan 6, 2021 I decided to loc my hair. After having been natural my entire life, I needed a change. It’s been one of the best hair months of my life, and I honestly wish I would have done this sooner.
A bit about my hair:
I do have red/brown highlights. I’ve had them for about 4 months now.
My hair texture is a mix of 3b & 3c
About my locs:
I decided to do the comb coil method to loc my hair with square parts. I really want my ends to remain loose and curly to have that boho locs feel, and I felt like starting this way would help me achieve that.
I have 132 locs & got them done at Brooklyn Dreadlocks.
I have not washed or twisted my hair on my own yet. A few products I’ve been loving:

I have a similar texture and I’m about a week into my journey. I literally wear them in French braids or up in a bun with a styled turban/head wrap to minimize unraveling. I love them so far and you made me feel better about the fact that I definitely won’t make it a month before my first re twist lol

I found that if you put rubber bands at the roots of each lock that you can wash it more and feel assured you won't loose the parts

I came to this video because I am 6 weeks in with my locs journey and I have the same hair texture as you. But I do want to let you know that when the hair gets fizzy in the roots that doesn’t mean u are not cared for or look homeless that just the hair processing new growth and fizziness is part of the process. And you don’t suppose to twist your hair that much either. We all have different hair texture but just because it gets a certain way in the process doesn’t mean that u look homeless or you don’t care 😂because see that’s the beauty of the spirituality of it.
