wow! thank you for this vid I've been looking for info on where the starter is located on these type of vans. i have a 1987 and i think i might need to replace it so this video also will help with that.

I've seen it done on Volkswagens due to week wiring harnesses so I'm definitely no stranger to it but kind of interesting to do it on something a lot "newer" then the V-Dubs I've worked on and own

Great video. I’m not sure what is wrong with my 87 yet. When trying to start, everything lights up as it should, when I turn the key, just get one click. Had just replaced the battery a few months ago.

Check your fusible link Also check the ground connections on the batteryFrom the battery to the frame and from the frame to the block

I appreciate your effort to make this video, but I have to say I found it very confusing when you were taking about how to hook up the relay. You could have just showed folks how to hook it up at the very beginning when you had the starter out of the car.

I'm sorry you found it confusing It was hard to explain out of the vehicle with out the wires from the vehicle. Are there any questions that I can help answer?
