I have had trouble with hi-torque starters in th past. They sometimes cram th bendex too much in the flywheel. Or the dang brushes hang up in the ameture. Hammer fixes this tho.

Bummer, With all the time you have into the rebuild I know you'll enjoy the car even more with bugs worked out. I got worn out just installing the rear signal lights and Lic. light on mine yesterday. Wish had your energy, One thing I wanted to ask you l do have any of the little bits that go on the tub right behind the doors. I think they support the trim piece. I can not find them anywhere and would gladly pay nicely for a set. Jim

Hi Jim, yeah, I'd like to be able to get it on the road and finally take it for a good run. Not sure what bits you are talking about? Are you talking about the tack strips that fit in the channel behind the b post? Cheers, Tush

You got it Jerry...I'm comparing it to our sea king helicopters....1 hour of driving for every 10 hours maintenance

I'm sure you could get a brush set for the starter...Give it a tap with a hammer just not on the body where the magnets are.
@cheftush8 жыл бұрын
Tried that...I think that is why I was able to start it earlier in the week...

Put it in gear bounce the car back and forward see if the starter is jammed, thats what we used to do here in the uk. if it is you will hear it click.
@cheftush8 жыл бұрын
Yep, one of the first things I tried. I thought the starter pinion might be stuck on the ring gear. No dice.

Can only be the connection then, you must have disturbed it.
