Thank you for this video. I have been working with leather for many years and have never seen anyone do a tutorial on modeling tools. Great job. I am glad I found your channel.

I think your work and instructional is superior to any other out there. You make a great teacher, and this industry needs your missing teaching and tooling talent. With that being said, most every video on KZbin I watch, no one ever shows the tips of their tooling tools. Links to these tools are usually expired or non existent. I wish instructors provided more in the area of explaining as well as showing the details of their tooling tools in more detail. Great work!! Thank you, I’ve learned a lot from your videos.

First... thank you! Thank great feedback and I'll do my best to work that into the videos. The links... that's a challenge to keep up with. 🤣

What thickness (ounces//mm) of leather do you use to create carvings and is it best to use chrome tanned leather?
@TheLeatherverse Жыл бұрын
For thickness, I like a 3oz up to 8-9oz. Always veg tan for tooling.

Good vidio

Watching the results of the modeling tool, I almost would rather use that exclusively, instead of a bevel or shader. It seemed more like drawing a picture, rather than punching one.
@TheLeatherverse2 жыл бұрын
I get it, but there are a dozen different kind of bevelers that give you different effects. Modeling spoon isn't going to be able to replicate all of them. (Might turn this into a video)
@michaelholbrook44012 жыл бұрын
@@TheLeatherverse I believe in keeping my options open, so even if I went the 'pencil' route with a modeling spoon, I wouldn't forgo bevel/shaders all together. :)

@@michaelholbrook4401 sounds like a plan that could work.
