Love the old cars ..Grew up in the Snowbelt in Northeast Ohio back in the 60's and 70's .moved to Tampa Bay FL back in 82..Forgot how hard it was to get those old carb engines started in the Cold

I just did an old start cold start on my 84 Thunderbird, 302ci hasn't been started since June/July 2015, unfortunately my VW Golf blew a head gasket and the Thunderturd was my only option, battery and a shot of Quick Start if fired right up. All I need now is tires and I'll be driving that pig again.

On cars with a computer, get a Actron CP9690 code tester. It checks live, record, emissions readiness test, ABS, SRS, it can turn off check engine lights, it can turn off oil lights, it can check transmission codes, it can activate solenoids and relays, and MORE!

You need to get you a good jump starter and get rid of those old batteries. They're a whole lot lighter too.

Check the codes on those cars and write down what they need. Bring the good cars up to the house. Replace old batteries.

06:52 it's not fuel injected it's not electronic that's all you have to do let the key go crank it again when you're ready. I get a kick out of these Yahoo's with old carbureted cars that turn the thing ignition completely off and turn the key back on again. there's no electric fuel pump there's nothing at all if the car doesn't start the first time just let the key go grab it again and twist..

You probably flooded the Olds, that's why it wouldn't start. They don't like when you just keep pumping and pumping like that. If you pump it once or twice and it won't start, try holding your foot all the way down on the throttle. It may rev when it starts, but as long as it already has oil pressure, it should be fine.

Not really. As long as I keep it off the road and out of the salt it won't rust too much.

Those old cars defently don’t sound good maybe because it’s old or it’s the car
@lsswappedcessna6 жыл бұрын
It's cold as shit, and carbureted cars run a little funny when they're cold like that. Give it fifteen minutes or so to reach operating temperature and it'll sound better. Source: I daily drove a classic Olds for two years, and it did the same thing, minus the trouble cranking, since it was (and still is) garage stored.
